REGISTRATION INFORMATIONADMISSION REQUIREMENTSAdult vocational education classes are open to all personseighteen years of age or older, who can profit fromtraining, are capable of performing the course work, meetprerequisite requirements and can pay the applicable fees.Students applying for state licensing programs, which havea completion of high school requirement, must provide acopy of a high school diploma or high school equivalencydiploma at registration.TUITION & FEESAll courses are tuition-based. Each course has therequired fee listed with the course description in thecatalog. Fees include tuition, a non-refundable 15registration fee and, where noted, textbooks andsupplies. All fees must be paid in full at time of registration.REFUND POLICYPrior to and after the first scheduled class meeting, youmay request a tuition refund in accordance with Board ofEducation Policy. There will be no refunds after the firstnight of class. (A 15 registration fee will bededucted from refunds). Students must notify theAdult Education Office at 732.473.3100 x 1000 to initiatethe refund process. Check refunds will take 6-8weeks to process. We are not responsible for snowdays; however, cancelled classes will be rescheduled.COURSE CANCELLATIONCourses may be cancelled by OCVTS or merged,if enrollment does not permit economical operation.Registered students, who cannot be accommodated, mayelect to transfer to another course, receive credit for afuture course or receive a full refund (including the 15registration fee).TEXTBOOKSWhen a textbook is required for a class, students mustpurchase them on their own. Information can be locatedon our website www.ocvts.org. Students must have thetextbook for the first night of class.SUPPLIES/PERSONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENTSupplies used for personal projects are the responsibility ofthe student. Items such as auto body paint, lumber, motoroil and sandpaper are examples of personal supplies. Allitems used, as required training exercises, are suppliedby the school. Personal safety equipment such as safetyglasses and goggles must be used and are not included inthe tuition fee. No one will be allowed to participate in thetraining instruction without required safety items.AWARDING CERTIFICATESStudents must attend a minimum of 85% of all schoolclass hours and meet the course requirements, in orderto receive the recommendation of the Adult EducationPrincipal to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion.(LICENSING, CERTIFICATION AND APPRENTICEPROGRAMS MAY REQUIRE HIGHER ATTENDANCE RATES.SEE INDIVIDUAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS. ALL FEESMUST BE PAID OR CERTIFICATES WILL NOT BE ISSUED.)CLASS SIZE AND SCHEDULESShops and classes are designed so that each student hasaccess to the tools and equipment necessary to acquirethe skills taught in the course. All classes and shops areplanned with a student-teacher ratio that provides anoptimum learning situation. (A minimum of 10 students isrequired to begin a course). The school reserves the rightto cancel any course with insufficient enrollment. Everyattempt will be made to maintain the class schedule asprinted. In order to accommodate the greatest number ofstudents possible, some changes in campus locations ordays may be necessary.CLASS MEETING DATES, TIMES & LOCATIONClasses begin September 7, 2021, unlessotherwise noted.
