A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is alsorecommended. It is recommended that a separate circuitserving only this cooktop be provided. Electronic ignition systems operate within wide voltage limits, but proper grounding and polarity are necessary. Check thatthe outlet provides 120-volt power and is correctly grounded. The wiring diagrams are provided with this cooktop. Thewiring diagrams are located inside the control console.tightengas supplyline.all gas connections.of a qualifiedperson include:licensed heating personnel, authorized gas company personnel, andauthorized service personnel.IMPORTANT: The cooktop must be electrically grounded inaccordance with local codes and ordinances, or in the absenceof local codes, with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70or Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C22.1. /sFailure to do so can result in death, explosion,or fire.Observe all governing codes and ordinances.IMPORTANT: This installation must conform with all local codesand ordinances. In the absence of local codes, installation mustconform with American National Standard, National Fuel GasCode ANSI Z223.1 - latest edition or CAN/CGA B149 - latestedition.IMPORTANT: Leak testing of the cooktop must be conductedaccording to the manufacturer's instructions.Type of GasNatural Gas:This cooktop is design-certified by CSA International for use withNatural gas or, after proper conversion, for use with LP gas. This cooktop is factory-set for use with Natural gas. Toconvert to LP gas, see the Gas Conversion instructionsprovided in the package containing literature. The model/serial rating plate located on the left underside of the cooktopburner base has information on the types of gas that can beused. If the types of gas listed do not include the type of gasavailable, check with the local gas supplier.LP Gas conversion:Conversion must be done by a qualified service technician. No attempt shall be made to convert the cooktop from the gasspecified on the model/serial rating plate for use with a differentgas without consulting the serving gas supplier. To convert to LPgas, use the LP gas conversion kit provided with the cooktop andsee the "Gas Conversions" section.Gas Supply LineProvide a gas supply line of 3A,,(1.9 cm) rigid pipe to thecooktop location. A smaller size pipe on longer runs mayresult in insufficient gas supply. With LP gas, piping or tubingsize can be 1/2"(1.3 cm) minimum. Usually, LP gas suppliersdetermine the size and materials used in the system.NOTE: Pipe-joint compounds that resist the action of LP gasmust be used. Do not use TEFLON t tape.t TEFLONis a registeredtrademark of E.I. Du Pont De Nemours and Company.

Flexible metal appliance connector:If local codes permit, a new CSA design-certified,4 - 5 ft (122 - 152.4 cm) long, %" (1.6 cm) or3 ,,(1.9 cm) I.D., flexible metal appliance connector maybe used for connecting the cooktop to the gas supplyline.Gas Pressure RegulatorThe gas pressure regulator supplied with this cooktop must beused. The inlet pressure to the regulator should be as follows forproper operation:Natural Gas:Minimum pressure: 6" (15.2 cm) WCP A 1/2"(1.3 cm) male pipe thread is needed for connectionto the female pipe threads of the inlet to the appliancepressure regulator.Do not kink or damage the flexible metal tubing whenmoving the cooktop.Rigid pipe connection:The rigid pipe connection requires a combination of pipefittings to obtain an in-line connection to the cooktop. Therigid pipe must be level with the cooktop connection. Allstrains must be removed from the supply and fuel lines socooktop will be level and in line.Maximum pressure: 14" (35.5 cm) WCPLP Gas:Minimum pressure: 11" (27.9 cm) WCPMaximum pressure: 14" (35.5 cm) WCPContact local gas supplier if you are not sure about the inletpressure.BurnerInput Rating - AltitudeInput ratings shown on the model/serial rating plate are forelevations up to 2,000 ft (609.6 m).For elevations above 2,000 ft (609.6 m), ratings need to bereduced at a rate of 4% for each 1,000 ft (304.8 m) above sealevel (not applicable for Canada).Gas Supply Pressure TestingMust include a shutoff valve:The supply line must be equipped with a manual shutoffvalve. This valve should be located in the same room butexternal to the cooktop enclosure or cabinet. It should be in alocation that allows ease of opening and closing. Do notblock access to shutoff valve. The valve is for turning on orshutting off gas to the cooktop.BGas supply pressure for testing regulator must be at least1" water column pressure above the manifold pressure shownon the model/serial rating plate.Line pressure testing above 1/2psi gauge (14" WCP)The cooktop and its individual shutoff valve must bedisconnected from the gas supply piping system during anypressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of1/2psi (3.5 kPa).Line pressure testingAA.
