AAA Ohio Names New PresidentDavid McMullen has been named to succeed AAAOhio Auto Club President and CEO Mark H. Shaw, whohas served in that role since May 2002.McMullen began his tenure on Jan. 2. He previouslyserved as vice president of Insurance & FinancialServices for the AAA Ohio Auto Club since 2013. Inthat position, McMullen was credited with significantlygrowing revenue, improving employee retention andenhancing policy retention.Before joining the executive staff at AAA Ohio AutoClub, McMullen served as president and CEO of KentuckyNational Insurance Group after serving five years asdirector of Insurance Sales for AAA Allied Group. A Visit to the Wall of the FallenThe International Towing & RecoveryHall of Fame and Museum recently addedto its Wall of the Fallen the names of45 towing operators who died in the lineof duty. The 13th annual Wall of the Fallenceremony, held Oct. 12 in Chattanooga,Tennessee, remembered each victim,shared their individual stories andrecognized their families.AAA President and CEO Marshall Doneyaddressed attendees, which includedsurvivors of 28 of the victims. Doneyexpressed appreciation for thecommitment and heroic deeds of thefallen, and his sympathy to their familiesand loved ones. He also pledged AAA’ssupport in educating the public about the importanceof Slow Down, Move Over laws, stating that fewerthan 30% of Americans are even aware of therequirements.State law requires drivers approaching a stationaryemergency vehicle, including tow trucks, to slowdown and vacate the lane next to the stoppedvehicle if possible.Doney’s call to action is as follows: Educate your friends, family, colleagues andneighbors about the danger of working atthe roadside.
