ABOUT GAMING & LEISUREOne of the greatest pleasures in life isto love what you do, and I am fortunateto fall into this category. Working all ofmy adult life in this complex, excitingand niche industry of ours called ‘gaming and hospitality’ has been a fantastic journey. In my early days I workedas a trusted business partner and advisor to our properties through the topfirm in the world for attestation, law andconsulting and later through my ownboutique firm focusing on finance, operations and technology. I’ve evenbeen honored performing work for theWhite House along the way.It was in my early days - when LasVegas and Atlantic City were 'gaming' and tribal was simply an emerging market - that I realized just howmuch our industry needed researchand resources. Nearly 2 decades agowhen I created Gaming & Leisure itwas for one product only, the first management periodical for owners andoperators in our industry. Gaming andHospitality until this point had alwaysbeen a subset of Travel, Transportationand Leisure for industry research andin depth content; and that lacked inspecificity for leaders to make soliddecisions, view apples to applesinformation and look at their organization as a whole. Many years ago myfriend Monika Nerger, Global CIO forMandarin Oriental, stated that G&Lhad become the “defacto standardread” for our industry and that wasquite possibly one of the best compliments that I’d ever received.Fast forward to today and Gaming &Leisure has become an organizationthat supports our industry in so manyways. All of our products and offeringsallow our properties to stay updatedon all aspects of their business be itgranularly or comparative quick metrics and that allows our business partners to ‘be where they are’ and thusreach their universe of potentialthrough any medium they choose; andmost importantly G&L richly connectsindustry influencers and thought leaders throughout the year. Case in point, the G&L Roundtable started as myboard meeting and has now growninto the top private forum in our industry in North America. In addition, I’mabsolutely honored to host the AnnualGaming & Hospitality industry Awardseach year which are the only awardsopen world-wide and no fee to enterand voted on by the property executives who comprise the G&L Boardand Roundtable Colleagues. The G&L Community is one of themost powerful groups in our industrytoday. But this is certainly not just dueto me at this stage in our growth. Allthat we are, all that we do and continue to do, is possible due to the commitment, passion and yes love, of thisindustry that our Board, BusinessPartners, Roundtable Colleagues,Contributors and Readers share. Thisglobal G&L Community continues toenrich each of us and our industry inall that they do and for them, I am everso grateful.Thank you for welcoming G&L intoyour homes and offices each andevery year and giving us the greatprivilege to serve you. As a futurebusiness partner reading this, I hopeto have the opportunity to have you apart of the G&L Community and I lookforward to working with you!All the best,Jeannie Caruso, CEOjeannie@mygamingandleisure.com1GAMING & LEISURE ORGANIZATION

The G&L Roundtable is a rare and valuable opportunity for information tech-nology leaders and business leaders from across the country to share and leverage ideas to overcome these obstacles. As a result of the Roundtable, the industry as a whole can more effectively communicate to manufacturers and suppliersour specific issues and needs so that they can more effectively design and manufacture products with our needs in mind.Congratulations to Jeannie and the G&L team for many incredible years! I am grateful toGaming & Leisure for this event each year and for giving me the opportunity to network with so many talented professionals. In addition, congratulations G&L on many years as a partner to the hospitality and gaming industry. Yourinsightful articles about industry trends, technology, practices, and advancements have also been very appreciatedover that time and I look forward to many more years of G&L.”Chuck Kilroy, VP, GM, Delaware North“The G&L Roundtable is engaging, and the topics are relevant to what is important to me. Peer and vendor inter-actionare the main reasons why I like the G&L Roundtable. I enjoy meeting new CXO leaders and seeing old friends.” Whocould put a value on a forum of all the CXOs in our industry in one place? No politics; just frank dis-cussions and sharingthoughts, feelings, and insights. Wow! This is the must attend event of the year for me. In addition, Gaming & LeisureMagazine is not only the magazine I look forward to but I also have to read it the day I get it. The articles are well written, informative, and timely and are written by renowned professionals. The ven-dor relations are also informative as theyare the leaders in their respective areas. It is a must read for anyone in the business. I also commend Gaming & Leisurefor the industry magazine and hosting the G&L Roundtable, which is an event not to be missed.”Don Kneisel, VP of IT, Hard Rock Casino Hotel, Atlantic City“I have attended the G&L Roundtable for many years and I look forward to it each year. The G&L Roundtableprovides a venue for me to have direct discussion will my peers in the industry and also have direct discussionswith all the important vendors in our market. The G&L Roundtable is a great platform for peers to discuss industry trends and address our concerns to vendors with a singular voice. I don’t need to set up multiple meetings;rather, we do it all in 2 days. In these days of trimming margins and reduc-ing operating expenses, we mustchoose wisely which event(s) to take part in each year. The G&L Roundtable is a must attend for any CXO inthe Gaming and Hospitality space. The shear amount of talent and experience of the attendees makes this avaluable experience. One would be remiss if they did not take advantage of the opportunity to tap into theshared experience and knowledge the CXO professionals in our industry. I gain great insights into the marketand technology enhancements each year and highly recommend G&L and the G&L Roundtable.”Les Leonard, Vice President IT Business Solutions, Seneca Gaming Corp. From a fledgling start up nearly 2 decades ago, G&L has become the de facto standard for required reading andnetworking in the gaming and hospitality industry. This is in no small part due the high caliber of standards whichG&L upholds, but also due to the ongoing commitment Jeannie has made throughout the years to inform, educate, and engage our growing community. One of the reasons I read Gaming & Leisure is the integrity of the content that is published. Current industry issues are presented in a well-researched and informative forum. Gaming& Leisure remains dedicated to delivering timely and focused articles and interviews that are both influential andilluminating. The G&L Roundtable is an insider’s view and opportunity to understand the real issues in today’stechnology environment. It is an open, honest, and refreshing discussion with key influencers, unlike any otherforum in the industry. I’m proud to have been associated with Gaming & Leisure since its inception, and I wouldlike to extend my congratula-tions to everyone at Gaming & Leisure for your continued success!”Monika Nerger, Global CIO, Mandarin Oriental Hotel GroupGAMING & LEISURE ORGANIZATION12
