Sheet No.GX-1Standard Water“GX” SeriesGas Fired HumidifierLooking for an alternative to electrically generatedsteam humidification?Concerned about usingchemically treated boiler steam for directhumidification? If so, PURE’s “GX” Series (patentno. 6,705,535) Gas Fired Humidifiers are exactlywhat you’re looking for.PURE’s commitment to quality and ease ofmaintenance is further illustrated by the use ofpressure clamps that secure the heat exchanger tothe reservoir and eliminate the need for through-thewall threaded fasteners. The humidifiers utilize a Tri-Probe sensor and a flusher, which removes watermineral buildup during each fill cycle, and doublesas a water overflow safety pipe to drain. Anaccumulative timed drain cycle performs automaticdraining and flushing, further reducing mineralbuildup within the reservoir. Precise modulation ofthe humidifier output is maintained by a high qualitygas burner which modulates the gas flow into theheat exchanger.Indoor air quality issues concerning the use of boilersteam for direct humidification have resulted in agrowing apprehension for the use of “steaminjection” type humidifiers. The possible carryoverof chemical additives and odor created within someboiler systems are being addressed in an effort toimprove the indoor air quality for new and existingbuildings. The alternative, electric humidifiers, canbe prohibitive due to the higher energy costsassociated with electrically generated steam, versusthe typically lower energy cost of natural gas. Forthese reasons, PURE has developed the “GX”Series Gas Fired Humidifier. Each humidifier is supplied with an INTAC controlsystem mounted in a NEMA-12 enclosure. TheINTAC microprocessor control system providesconstant monitoring of the water level and safetysystems, as well as providing a gas valve interlock. This will prevent operation, should any of the safetycircuits open. The “GX” Series Humidifiers utilize a stainless steelheat exchanger, which allows for a gas powerburner to be used as the energy source forproducing steam from tap water. The “GX” humidifiers come standard with freestanding support legs, factory mounted controlpanel, factory insulation and DCT-927 draintempering kit. Flexible hose is available for remotemounting of the humidifier from the injection tube.Multiple injection tubes are available for improveddissipation of the steam in large ducts ormanufactured air handling systems.Multiplehumidifiers can be manifolded together to a singleinjection tube system to provide increased capacityon large air volume projects. The steam produced by the “GX” Series Humidifieris free from chemical or mineral carryover, providingpure humidification for today’s stringent indoor airquality requirements. PURE’s highly efficient heatexchanger produces combustion efficiencies up to84%, as well as providing simplified maintenance. The unique side entry heat exchanger can beremoved without removing the cover and injectiontube system, and provides a large clean-out openingwhich extends the full length of the humidifier.Furthermore, the unique design allows for easyremoval of the gas burners. The versatility of the “GX” Series will allow you todesign them into any system simply, efficiently andreliably. Our results are comfortingPURE HUMIDIFIER and INTAC are registered trademarks of PURE Humidifier Co.10-19
