Selection GuidePerformance LevelsGreenheck models RBU and RBUMO are offered inthree performance levels. This concept assures thesystem designer a high quality, reliably constructed fanfor every performance point at the most economicalcost. The key difference between levels is the maximumhorsepower capacity. The graph at right illustrates the performance ranges by levelfor model RBU-36. For a performance of16,000 cfm at 0.25 in. wg, RBU-36 level 2 gives the mosteconomical selection.tionsinthisareaarenotrecommended.The performance based selection process is built rightinto the catalog tables and Greenheck’s Computer AidedProduct Selection (CAPS) program. Simply specify the CFMand static pressure. The optimal level of construction will beautomatically selected.0.50Level3Level2SelecStatic Pressure in Inches wg.0.750.25Level10.0004812162024cfm x 1000Propeller Types - Belt Drive“L” Type CONSTRUCTION“H” Type CONSTRUCTIONLevel 3Level 1 & 2Level 1 & 2The “L” Type propeller is a fabricated steel propeller(aluminum optional) with a swept, steeply pitched bladedesign. These propellers typically run at lower RPMs andgenerate low sound levels making them the best selectionfor sound critical applications or applications that requirethe best combination of both air and sound performance.Level 3The “H” Type propeller is a fabricated steel propeller(aluminum optional) with a straight, moderately pitchedblade. It is designed for applications where static pressurescannot be met by the “L” propeller. These propellerstypically run at higher RPMs and generate higher soundlevels than the “L” propellers.Motor Service FactorModel RBU and RDU motors are cooled by the airstream. With an uninterrupted flow of cooling air, motors may beoperated in their service factor range (up to 20% abovethe motor’s nameplate horsepower) without damage due tooverheating. Lesser overloads are recommended for applicationsusing totally enclosed or explosion resistant motors.Model RBUMO, with its motor out of the airstreamdesign, has been limited to a 10% service factor. Ifselection into the motor service factor is not desirabledue to fan application or designer preference, specifythe next higher motor horsepower.Model Number Code - Belt DriveThe model number code is designed to completely identify the fan.
