How to Submit - Welcome to submission to “Electrochemistry”About ElectrochemistryElectrochemistry has been the official journal of The Electrochemical Society of Japan (ECSJ) since 1999.Electrochemistry succeeds the journal Denki Kagaku (Japanese word for ‘Electrochemistry’) which was first publishedin 1933 with the aim of contributing to science and industry through electrochemistry. Presently, Electrochemistry ispublished bimonthly on the 5th day of every odd month as a fully on-line online open access journal. Electrochemistryis devoted to publishing contents related to the following:- Electrochemistry in general- Industrial physical chemistry related to electrochemistry- Materials chemistry related to electrochemical applicationsThis journal is composed of articles and reviews written in English or Japanese by researchers and engineers who areactive in the above fields, for both members and non-members of ECSJ.As the title of the predecessor journal Denki Kagaku oyobi Kogyo Butsuri Kagaku (1961-1998, Japanese translationof Electrochemistry and Industrial Physical Chemistry) implies, the contents of manuscripts do not necessarily have toinclude phenomenon directly related to electrochemistry. Nonetheless, as the main readers of Electrochemistry are thoseinterested in electrochemistry, it is essential that the contents of the work include an explanation of how the studyassociates to advancement in electrochemical science or technological progress in electrochemical engineering.Manuscripts published in Electrochemistry are available as open access based on the copyright license agreementbetween the author(s) and ECSJ, where the author(s) retains the copyright of the manuscript. The PDF file of the finalprinted version may be posted on the author(s) institutional repository, and may be freely used for secondary use.Authors and readers are equally entitled to the content of the manuscript, reprinting of figures and tables, and secondaryuse (including modification) based on Rule 6 of Creative Commons, therefore allowing the author(s) the opportunity towidely publish the research results. Publication and related licenses are ownedECSJ exclusively owns publication and related rights as stated in the copyright license agreement. The author(s) are also recommended to read the following PDF policy en.pdfincluding;- Paper Submission policy for “Electrochemistry”- Article Processing Charges (APC)- Copyright License Agreement with The Electrochemical Society of JapanInstructions for AuthorsThe author is strongly recommended to read“Electrochemistry - Instructions for Authors (Dec 15, 2020)”in the following pages.Online Manuscript SubmissionThe author may submit the manuscript via the online submission system in the following ry/December 15, 2020The Editorial Committee of ElectrochemistryThe Electrochemical Society of Japan

Figure FormatFigures should be placed at the end of the manuscript after the tables, one figure on one page. Please make sure thatthe order of figures and the cations are in accordance with the list of figures. Color may be used for figures. Use onepage for each figure, 86 mm wide for a one-column format and 178 mm wide for a two-column format. Use resolutionof 600 dpi or higher, and font size larger than 9 points. Lines width for drawings should be at least 0.5 points (0.18 mm).Figures should be numbered in sequence (Figure 1, Figure 2, or Scheme 1, Scheme 2 ). The figure caption or theauthor’s name should be given below the figure. Digital photographs and micrographs should be treated as figures. Scalebars should accompany micrographs with adequate line width and font size.

10. Table FormatTables should be placed at the end of the manuscript after the list of figure captions. Text for tables should be in blackand the use of color should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. Use one page for each table, 86 mm wide for a onecolumn table and 178 mm wide for a two-column table. Tables should be numbered in sequence (Table 1, Table 2, ).The title of the Table should be appear on the 1st line at the top of the Table.11. Supporting informationSupporting Information (SI), also known as supplementary material, typically includes that are relevant to theunderstanding of the manuscript but does not form part of the main article. Supporting information may includeadditional data such large tables or data sets, additional figures, supplementary photo- and micro-graphs, movie files, audio clips, as well as details of experimental, analytical and characterization methods, etc. SI is intended for publicationin the online editions. SI must be submitted as separate files, not as text included in the article file, along with the mainmanuscript. A single pdf file is preferred for SI except for movie files and audio clips. As readers as well as reviewersmust be able to easily access the SI, commonly used file formats such as jpg, gif, tiff, mpg, mp4 are suggested. Themaximum file size is 50 MB.1. The Front Page of the SI should clearly state “Supporting Information” with the same information as the FrontPage; name of author(s), affiliation, and corresponding author information (see section 6.4).2. Information essential to the contents of the manuscript should be included in the main article, not the SI.3. Page numbers should be included in the Supporting Information file and formatted as “S1, S2, S3, etc” at the centerof bottom margin. Figures, tables, etc. should be numbered sequentially with S1, S2, S3. (Example: Fig. S1, TableS1, Scheme S1, Movie S1), and quoted in the main article as Fig. S1 of the Supporting Information, Movie S2 ofthe Supporting Information.4. If the manuscript is accompanied by any SI file, a brief paragraph should be placed at the end of the manuscriptbefore the acknowledgement (or the list of references). The appropriate format is:Supporting Information: The Supporting Information is available on the website at DOI: xxxxxxxxxxxxx.5. SI may be revised during the review process if necessary. Remove any revision history when uploading a MS Wordfile as a SI, since files will be uploaded as-is and will not be converted into pdf format.12. MiscellaneousAuthors’ are suggested to refer to most recent papers published in Electrochemistry; papers published (after Vol. 88No. 2, 2020). 111. When using a subtitle, the subtitle should follow the main title with a period. If the article is part of a series ofpapers with the same main title, add a consecutive number with Roman numerals for the main title and thencontinue with the subtitle. Authors are advised to refrain from using obvious or non-specific openings titles suchas “Study on ” for the title of their manuscript.2. The following systematic headline numbers may be used for sections and sub-sections. e.g., 1, 1.1, 1.1.1, and soon.3. Complicated mathematical formulas and chemical structural formulas may be embedded as figures.4. When describing a chemical substance in the main text or captions in figures/tables, use the compound name in thecase of the first appearance. The nomenclature of the chemicals should follow the IUPAC rules.12Red Book: Nomenclature of Inorganic Chemistry13Blue Book: Nomenclature of Organic Chemistry14Purple Book: Compendium of Polymer Terminology and Nomenclature155. Terminology, symbols, units, and quantities should follow the IUPAC rules.12Green Book: Quant

Submit your last fiscal year that ended by Oct. 15: If you follow the traditional (July-June) or Federal (Oct-Sept) fiscal years, submit the current year (2019-2020 in this case). But if you follow the calendar year (Jan-Dec), you should submit last year’s data (2019). I know this seems weird. Note –A few libraries are off-schedule.
