Take away these eight standard featuresand you’ll have a pump like everyone else’s.True Back PulloutA B&G standard in designand construction.Ease inservice is assured, whilepiping and motor remainundisturbed. Extendeddelays for repairs arevirtually eliminated.Internally Self-Flushing Mechanical SealThis design is way ahead of its time. This unique sealdesign is proven in many years of service. It requires nospecial external flushing provisions, since the designprovides for constant efficient flushing action internally. This standard feature ensures maximum seal facelubrication, heat dissipation and debris removal withoutvulnerable, external flush tubing. The internal flushingaction passes two and a half to three times the flowover the seal faces — compared to a few GPM forconventional, stuffing-box designed pumps.Computer ControlledImpeller Balancing1510 impellers are balancedto ANSI/HI 9.6.4-2009,balance grade G6.3 standards. This method of computerbalancing Impellers providesfor quiet, efficient, vibrationfree performance. Diametersare computer selected at the factory to furnish assurancethat your capacity requirements will be met.Solid-Foot Mounted VoluteAll Series 1510 pumps areprovided as standard with anintegrally cast volute foot locateddirectly beneath the pump volute. This integrally cast foot ensuresthat the alignment between thevolute and motor assembly ismaintained. Without solidsupport beneath the volute, the piping weight alone willcause distortion which can lead to premature failure of thebearings, shaft and mechanical seal. This feature is equallyimportant on hot water applications. The Series 1510volute foot provides a solid foundation and eliminatesthe deflections which would otherwise exist within anunsupported overhung volute during the normal thermalexpansion of the system piping against the volute.Center Drop-OutSpacer CouplingUnlike conventional jawtype or rigid style couplings,a center drop-out spacercoupling allows removal of thebearing frame and rotatingelement without disturbingthe pump end pipe alignment or motor electricalconnections.ANSI/OSHA-CompliantCoupling GuardThe coupler guard complieswith ANSI B15.1 and OSHA1910.219. The guard offersincreased protection againstpotential injuries and is standardon all 1510 pumps. The guards include slotted viewingwindows for easy inspection.Patented i-ALERTTMCondition MonitorHeavy Duty, Rugged BaseplateThe Bell & Gossett fabricated heavy duty baseplate issupplied as standard on every Series 1510 pump. Unlikerolled steel and “C” channel baseplates, the Series 1510baseplate provides a heavy duty saddle assembly, fullseam welds, closed baseplate ends and an open top toprovide ease of access for proper equipment grouting.Continuously measuresvibration and temperatureat the outboard bearing andautomatically indicates whenpre-set levels of vibration andtemperature have been exceeded, so that changes can bemade before failure occurs. A visual indication of pumphealth makes walk-around inspections more efficient andaccurate. This onboard pump intelligence helps minimizelife-cycle costs while maximizing performance.3

Technical DataBALANCE STANDARDSImpellers are balanced to Hydraulic Institute Standards ANSI/HI 9.6.4-2009.The allowable residual unbalance in the impeller rotating assembly conforms toANSI grade G6.3 (Ref.
