JKHA After-School Enrichments February 6 – April 7JCC MetroWest is excited to offer a variety of enrichment classes for your children at JKHA this fall.Enrichment classes will run from Monday, February 6 – April 7.If you would like to sign your child up for any enrichment classes, please fill out this form and return itwith a check made out to JCC MetroWest to Betty Wong in the Lower School Office by January 31.If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Susan Hur at 973-530-3465 orshur@jccmetrowest.org.Dismissal:As security is a top priority, please make sure that you have identification on you when you arrive to pickup your child/children. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays enrichment classes end at4:25pm. Friday enrichment classes end at 2:25pm. Dismissal will occur at the classroom in which theenrichment class is taught. Whether this is your first timecooking or you are a top chef, everyone will have a great time becoming a chef.Chess (Grades K-5) 175/8 sessionsLearn how to play the most popular game ever invented!! Come play the game of strategy and problem solving.Beginner students will learn:·All the chess pieces and how they move·Special moves like castling, en passant·Key chess tactics such as Pins, Forks, Double Attacks, Skewers, Discovered Checks·Basic Opening Theory and Defense Strategies.Intermediate and Advanced Students will focus on Opening, Middlegame and Endgame Strategies. Basketball with A MONEY Sportz (Grades 3-6) 180/9 sessionsA Money Sportz will work on many aspects of the game of basketball including: ball handling, shooting, offensive moves,defense and all aspects of the game. While your child will practice ball-handling, dribbling, and shooting, they will alsolearn about good sportsmanship, teamwork, and the value of fair play. Our outstanding coaches take an individual interestin each child regardless of his or her ability on the court. Games will be played during each class to reinforce lessonstaught. The goal of this class is to teach the fundamentals of the game of basketball while also stressing teamwork,sportsmanship, enthusiasm and the benefits of having positive attitude.
