And this challenge is the dominantdriver of the Kelley A. Bergstrom Real Estate Center. The Center’s mission is to overcomethe barriers to information and communication that separate students from rewardingcareers in the industry and separate firms from each other.The Center brings a wide array of tools to this challenge. To connect students with realestate firms, the Center supports training in industry practice and protocol, supportsmentorships with over 150 Advisory Board members and supports an international projecttrip for our students. To bring students and industry firms together, the Center holds anannual retreat of the Advisory Board. Then, to bring both our students and the AdvisoryBoard together with the industry, the Center holds our annual Trends & StrategiesConference. The Center’s strength played an important role in the Master of Science in RealEstate program being ranked No. 1 among U.S. publics, No. 2 among all U.S. programs and No.16 in the world in the Real Estate/Wealth Management rankings by Eduniversal.S T U D E N T A C C O M P L I S H M E N T S : Studentsin the Bergstrom Center stand out in the jobsearch because of their immersive educationalexperience. BLUE TEAM WINSCOMMUNITY LANDUSE GAMEA A R O N B A N K S , C O DY WA R R E N , M E L O DY S C OT T, A DA MSUBES AND JONAH GROSSMAN, AKA THE BLUE TEAM,were this year’s winning team in the Community LandUse Game (CLUG). The game is a teaching tool designedaround a team (development company) activity focused onthe challenges of business strategy, city management andcommunity building. Originally developed in the 1960s byUniversity of Michigan professor of urban planning AllanFeldt, CLUG has since been played by thousands of students,public officials and civic groups. Our intention of playing thegame is to provide a participatory framework to teach the coreprinciples of land use theories.

CAPSTONE PROJECTAdvisory board member Rick Scarola and MSRE alumnus BrianLott from Covenant Capital Group supported our capstoneproject. Collier Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE): Thetraditional MSRE program is a 10-month, 34-credit, in-residenceprogram that is focused on commercial real estate, led by twoof the most recognized names in real estate education andresearch—Professors Wayne Archer and David Ling.Joint JD/MSRE: This unique program allows students to completeboth the Juris Doctor and MSRE degrees in three years bydouble-counting some credits from each degree toward the otherdegree’s elective credits.MBA with a Real Estate Concentration: MBA students takeeight credits of real estate coursework as electives to earn theconcentration.Combined Bachelor/MSRE: Combined degree students arehighly-qualified and motivated, have earned significant collegecredits in high school, and want the added challenge of takingMSRE coursework while still finishing their undergraduatedegree.
