3Adding/Editing Tests:Selecting Add or Edit opens the Add/Edit Test dialog box (below, left) comprised of several sectionsdiscussed in the following text. Fields with an icon are required entries.NOTE: For an existing Test, all fields are editable when the Status is ‘Design’; if ‘Active’, the only editablefields are Status and Review Setup.1 – Test Properties (below) includes:981234567Test Name; Owning Organization; Version; and,Status. Also included are options to make theTest a Survey (no right or wrong answers and notgraded), a Stan/Eval Test, (automatically checkedif the user has the Testing Setup - Edit Stan/EvalTests permission); and, Permission Restricted torestrict either the Test to be taken by only thosewith the correct permissions or else restrict thetaking of a Test to certain computers.2 – Review Setup (right) is enabled by selecting the checkbox and thenestablishing the Review Interval, associated Threshold Warning, and an option to Always set the due date for the end of the Year.3 – Description (example, right) is optional.4 – Instructions (example, right) are displayed to the examinee uponopening the Test; Closed Book (from the checkbox in section 5)will not display here, but is seen when the Test is opened.5 – Total Points (below) defaults to 100; Passing Points defaults to 70. Closed Book places that statement in the Instructions.Allow Self Practice marks the Test so that it can be given for practice. Disallow Practice prevents a Testfrom being used for practice, e.g., a Stan/Eval Test.6 – Fill in the Blank (FIB) Grading Constraints help to make FIB answers less prone to ‘user errors’. FIB typequestions must be answered exactly as called for in the Test, any errors (e.g., extra spaces between words, misspellings, incorrect capitalization, etc.), cause an answer to beincorrect. The options help alleviate these issues.Placing the mouse over the fields for Whitespace and Special CharactersEvaluation opens a tooltip explaining what each accomplishes. IgnoreCapitalization is self-explanatory. Check Support Equivalent Terms, andthe Equivalent Terms button to open the dialog (right) where ‘Strings’ arecreated; a ‘String’ can be checked to Use as Default for New Tests.

4Adding/Editing Tests (cont):6 – Fill in the Blank (FIB) Grading Constraints (cont)NOTE: Despite efforts to alleviate ‘user errors’ in answering FIB type questions, they are likely to occuranyway. When an answer marked as wrong is contested by an examinee, a proctor will have to review it todetermine if the intent of the answer meets the Test requirements and, when appropriate, to award points.7 – Test Defaults includes:Number of Retakes Allowed (defaults to Unlimited), is self-explanatory;Minimum Time Between Retakes (defaults to 0) sets the number of hours that must pass from when aTest is failed before it can be retaken;Allow Test Results to be Viewed – checking this allows anexaminee to view the result of the Test upon completion;Test Review is only enabled if the preceding checkbox isselected and it has four options:None (default setting) – the examinee will only be shown their Test grade.Anytime – the Test can be reviewed at any time.Immediate – the Test can only be reviewed immediately upon completion, but at no other time.Show Correct Answers When Reviewing the Test displays the correct answers when Anytime orImmediate is selected. If not selected, the results only indicate whether or not a question wascorrectly answered.Allow the Test to be Interrupted and Resumed Later – when checked, the Test may be placed on holdand resumed at a later time. When resumed for a timed Test, the time remaining will be the same aswhen it was placed on hold.Proctor Required – checking this means the Test must be released by a proctor; this is done in TestingManagement (see the Testing Management checklist).Proctor Required on Resume – when the preceding checkbox is selected, selecting this checkboxrequires a proctor to re-release the Test in order for it to be resumed.8 – Scope (right) allows the user to select those organizations (andsubordinates) as well as platf
