Data sheetCisco SD-WAN RoutersProduct data sheetIntroductionCisco’s SD-WAN Routers are the routing components of the overlay architecture that deliver the essentialWAN, security and multi-cloud capability of the solution.Cisco SD-WAN routers are delivered as hardware, software, cloud or virtualized components that sit at theperimeter of a site, such as remote office, branch office, campus, or a data center. They participate inestablishing a secure virtual overlay network over a mix of any WAN transports.Product portfolioThe SD-WAN routers are available in the following models:1.vEdge-100: 100Mbps AES-256 throughput, with five fixed 10/100/1000 Mbps ports. Comes in three differentflavors: vEdge 100b: Ethernet only vEdge 100m: Ethernet and integrated 2G/3G/4G modem vEdge 100wm: Ethernet and integrated 2G/3G/4G modem Wireless LAN2.vEdge-1000: 1 Gbps AES-256 throughput, with 8 ports of fixed GE SFP3.vEdge-2000: 10 Gbps AES-256 throughput, with 2 Pluggable Interface Modules4.vEdge-5000: 20 Gbps AES-256 throughput, with 4 Network Interface Modules5.ISR & ASR Series: With IOS XE SD-WAN software image, SD-WAN capability can be enabled on select ISR1000 series, ISR 4000 series and ASR 1000 series routers. For more details, refer the respective data sheets6.ENCS: With IOS XE SD-WAN software image, SD-WAN capability can be enabled on select ENCS 5000series platforms. 7.vEdge Cloud and CSR are the cloud elements of the SD-WAN solution. For more details, refer to therespective data sheetsvEdge Routers: All of vEdge Routers offer the same software functionality. The key differences between theplatforms are in respect to throughput, redundancy in hardware components and port density. Some models ofvEdge-100 routers offer additional functionality in the form of Power over Ethernet-integrated GPS and integratedWi-Fi. Key hardware specifications for vEdge Routers are listed in Table 1.Table 1.Key hardware specifications of the vEdge 8 x 1 Gbps SFP4 x 1 Gbps SFP, 2 PluggableInter- face Module (PIM) slots.PIM Options: 2 x 10 GbpsSFP, 8 x 1 Gbps SFP4 Network Interface Module(NIM) slots – NIM Options: 8 x1Gbps Copper, 8 x 1Gbps SFPand 4 x 10GbpsServices and Slot DensityTraffic ports5 x 10/100/1000 MbpsRJ-45 portsEmbedded hardware-based cryptoacceleration (IPSec)YesYesYesYesMemory DDR3 ECC2 GB2 GB8 GB32GB DDR4SD card slot (external)N/AMaximum capacitysupported 32 GBMaximum capacitysupported 32 GBN/ANAND storage(internal)4 GB8 GB8 GB120GBExternal USB100b: N/A2 (USB 3.0 Type A)2 (USB 3.0 Type A)2 (USB 2.0 Type A)Host Port100m & 100wm:1 (USB 3.0 Type A)Power-over-Ethernet(PoE)100b: N/AN/AN/AN/A4G LTE100b: N/AN/AN/AN/A100m & 100wm: 1 port,15.4W (802.3af)100m & 100wm:1 IntegratedGlobal PositioningSystem (GPS)Integrated withexternal el QATUSB console port1, Mini Type B(115.2 Kbps)1, Type B(115.2 Kbps)1, Type B(115.2 Kbps)N/ASerial console portN/A1, RJ-45 (115.2 Kbps)1, RJ-45 (115.2 Kbps)1, RJ-45 (115.2 Kbps)Management Ethernetport (RJ-4510/100/1000Mbps)N/A1, RJ-45 10/100/10001, RJ-45 10/100/10001, RJ-45 10/100/1000Power supply option100b: External AC-DCpower adapterExternal AC-DC poweradapterHot-swappable Power SupplyUnits (PSUs)Hot-swappable Power SupplyUnits (PSUs)100m: Internal fixedAC power adapterRedundant powersupply supportN/AYes1 1 active-active redundancyYesFans100b: N/A (fanless)100m & 100wm: 1 fan,fixed22, hot swappable4, hot swappable 2018 Cisco and/or its affiliates.
