Method 1 – RecommendedMethod 2Method 3The easiest and quickest way to install UniCam connectors is in combination with our LANscape Solutions 900 μm tight buffer cables.For terminations on loose tube or central tube cables(12 fibres or fewer per tube), it is recommended thatyou use a fan-out kit: FAN-BT25-06 for six fibres orFAN-BT25-12 for 12 fibres.This method can only be used with a fixed patchpanel without sliding trays. Installers need to becautious and take extra care routing and installingthe connectors on the 250 μm fibre. There will bereduced tensile strength in connectors and barefibres in the patch panels. Following the instructions included with your patchpanel, simply remove the cable jacket to allowone to two loops of the tight buffer fibres inthe routing guides. Install the UniCam connector directly on the tightbuffer fibre using the UniCam high-performancetool kit. This operation takes about a minute. Remove the cable jacket such that you have enoughbuffer tube as required to route within the housing,plus another 10 cm to terminate the fibre in UniCamconnectors. Remove the buffer tubing, clean the fibres using alcohol,and make sure all gel residues are removed. When usingour FREEDM gel-free central tube cables, the cleaningprocess procedure is less time-consuming. Directly install the UniCam connector on the fan-outtubing. This operation takes about two minutes andgives great protection to your 250 µm fibres. Clean the fibres and wipe with alcohol. Place a piece of 3 cm 900 μm tubing onto the fibre,such as FAN-BT-3CM. CCH Splice ModulesThe CCH splice module supports fusion splicing of individual fibres, with heat-shrink protection, pigtail slack, and cable slack managed within a single space-savingfootprint. This eliminates the need for individual splice trays or separate splice housings, as well as allowing splicing to be done away from the rack housing in asuitable workspace as needed.
