Twinkle, Twinkle, All the StarsWhen you look up at night, you can see starsshine in the sky. People sometimes imaginethere are lines between the stars that makedifferent shapes or pictures—like a bear, a lion,or even people. Those shapes and pictures arecalled constellations. They’re like dot-to-dotactivities but in outer space!4You can make your own constellation onthis page. Place one of your hands in the areaabove, trace it, then draw stars (or use storebought star stickers) around it to make thesame shape.Get a stargazing app and find realconstellations to look at in the night sky.Dream up stories to go with the one your girllikes best.

Point out how it sounds likeit has the word “new” in it to remind you ofwhat that person does!5

Be a Tree DetectiveJust like there are different types of dogs, cats, and birds, there are different kinds of treestoo! They can be very tall or not so tall, wide ornarrow, and have big leaves or tiny leaves—oreven needles instead of leaves!Go for a walk with a grown-up in your familyand see how many types of trees you can findin your area. Then draw pictures of them on6this page, or have a grown-up help you look upphotos of the same types of trees that you canprint and paste here.Place leaves your girl finds outside on aflat surface and cover them with plainpaper. Have each family member rub a crayonor pencil over the top to make pretty leaf art.

Courage canhelp you try new things, stand up for what’sright, and even make friends!Think of an animal who has courage. Is it alion who roars for all the jungle to hear?
