Electrical MetallicTubing (EMT)IntermediateMetal Conduit (IMC)To manufacture our high-quality EMT, we uselow-carbon strip steel that is electric-resistancewelded into tubing and then in-line galvanized forsuperior rust protection. The conduit is then coatedwith a low-friction organic polymer inside and out toresist corrosion and make feeding wires easier. Beforeleaving our facility, our EMT undergoes testing toensure it bends without kinking, flattening, flakingor cracking.IMC is manufactured as a cross between EMT andrigid metal conduit (RMC). A slightly thinner gaugethan RMC, IMC is light but strong. It has the sameelectric-resistance welded tube-making processas EMT, but it is threaded like RMC, so the samecouplings can be used for both. Like all of ourelectrical conduit, it is protected by zinc and organiccoatings inside and out, and is thoroughly tested forbendability and threadability before being shipped. Our EMT conforms to: UL-797 CSA C22.2 No. 83.1 ANSI C80.3 NEC Article 358 WW-C-563Standard EMT and Color EMT Weights and Specifications (10' Lengths)Trade Size½¾11 ¼1 ½22 ½33 . perFootFeet inSubBundleQty. inMasterBundleFeet inMasterBundleNom. Rigid MetalConduit (RMC)Rigid AluminumConduit (RAC)Manufactured as the heaviest-gauge tubing available,RMC stands up to the most challenging physicalenvironments. Our RMC is hot-dip galvanized and thencoated in layers of chromate conversion and organicpolymer for extra protection. This makes it especiallystrong and resistant to environmental and mechanicalcorrosion. A number of rigorous quality verificationsmust be passed — including bend and thread testing —before any RMC is approved to leave our facility.RAC is designed to provide decades of reliable service fordry, wet, exposed, concealed and hazardous locations.Made of a marine-grade alloy, RAC naturally resistscorrosion. Each piece is threaded on both ends, with acoupling on one end and color-coded thread protectoron the other.
