Peck9/05/2014Rev.AApproved By / Date:General Description:The Hellenbrand HRO 4-Series Membrane Systems are state of-the-art, versatile systems for treating tapand well water supplies with flow rates ranging from 500 to 8,000 gallons per day with minimal energyconsumption and low maintenance and operation costs.HRO 4-Series Systems feature a robust, innovative design that allows for versatility in the event of feedwater quality and temperature variations. Standard features include C21 and C23 computer controller,an ASCO composite 212-series solenoid valve, a chemical injection port with 110V or 220V power outlet,a low pressure switch, and a stainless steel booster pump for high performance and corrosionresistance.The systems will feature high quality components for enhanced performance and durability. HF4-2521and HF4-2540 extra low energy membranes will be featured on the 500, 1000 and 2000 gallon per daysystems, whereas the 4,000 to 8,000 gallon per day systems will feature HF4-4040 extra low energymembranes (not installed, shipped separately). All systems will feature FRP-Series membrane housings,gauges and flow meters, filter housings and cartridges, and needle valves.The HRO 4-Series systems are available with a wide variety of options. TDS monitoring is available witha mounted HM Digital DM-2 TDS meter option. The DM-2 is a commercial inline dual TDS monitor whichdisplays TDS levels of the feed water and product water with in & out probes. The 6,000 gallon per daysystem features an expandable design so that one model can be upgraded with HF4-4040 membraneand membrane housing, thus increasing the production rate of the system. Optional levelers or casterwheels can be added to any system.All systems come pre-assembled and pre-wired for ease of installation and servicing.Mechanical Description:The major components of the system are supported by a powder coated aluminum frame and designedin such a way to provide easy access for servicing, maintenance, and monitoring system performance.Hellenbrand HRO 4-Series systems are offered in six different models: HRO 4-500, HRO 4-1000, HRO 42000, HRO 4-4000, HRO 4-6000, and the HRO 4-8000. HRO 4-Series Product SpecificationThe HRO 4-Series systems have a 3/4" FNPT ASCO solenoid valve, followed by a 5 micron pre-filter withpressure gauges to monitor filter inlet and outlet pressures. Following the pre-filter, a low pressureswitch protects the pump from potential cavitation damage. If the pre-filter outlet pressure issatisfactory, the RO pump will turn on and pressurized water will flow through the HF4 membraneelements. The HRO 4-Series systems monitor RO permeate flow, concentrate flow and recycle flowutilizing analog style flow meters. Stainless steel needle valves control the flow of concentrate to drainand the flow of concentrate recycle back to the feed line before the RO pump.Electrical Description:The HRO 4-500 and HRO 4-1000 systems come with a C21 on/off switch controller used to perform all ofthe functions necessary to reliably operate the system.The HRO 4-2000, HRO 4-4000, HRO 4-6000 and HRO 4-8000 systems come with a C23 computercontroller.The C23 controller incorporates a flush cycle that can help increase membrane life. The controller isassembled in the USA and manufactured in compliance with UL-508, and IEC Standard 1000-4-4 part 4for EMI noise interference. The panel display has six LED status indicators and seven easy accessprogram switches. Primary power is switch selectable for either 115VAC, or 230VAC operation at 50/60Hz. Internal power board has pump and board fuses, and convenient power distribution terminals.Primary DPST power switch and pump relay are rated for 1HP @ 120VAC and 2HP @ 240VAC.Automatically maintains water storage tank level, using single float, or pressure switch. Controls waterinlet relay and membrane flush relay. All outputs have isolated contacts rated to 240VAC. Lockout inputwill shut down operation during pre-treatment regeneration. Pressure switch input will shut down thepump for 5 minutes if the pressure is low. Automatic membrane flush cycles have selectable flush timesand frequencies.
