MCC SNAPSHOT - JUNE 2014REMEMBERING ROYRoy Williams, celebrating his 90th birthday with his wife and son.Roy died on May 26, 2014. He was 93 years young!Roy Williams joined the Mississauga Camera Club in 1992. He was an active member, sharing his time and expertise. During the past 22 years, Roy served on the Executive asTreasurer for 8 years and GTCCC rep for three years. He was the Co-ordinator of Photographyfor Carassauga for five years.

Roy enjoyed photography, but he also enjoyed the fellowship that he received from members ofMCC. He was known for his clever wit, dry humour, as well as his jokes, and those close tohim found that warm heart which they treasure. When digital photography arrived in 2000, Royembraced the change and mentored others, introducing them to an on-line forum where hemade many friends from around the world.During his years with MCC, Roy voiced his opinions and was never shy to make a comment at ameeting. He enjoyed playing the role of club curmudgeon, but was always supportive ofchanges being made. Roy was proud of the recognition he received from the club for his bodyof work. This was most evident in the presentation he made to the membership three yearsago. In his final months, Roy's spirits were buoyed by the frequent visits of a few MCC pals. Helooked forward to those visits and the slide shows and videos of his beloved photographs. Thisseason, a Show-Off of his exquisite Winter images, and his Photo Essay were enjoyed by themembership.Roy was an inspiration to us all - still competing at age 93! He will be greatly missedThank you to Audrey, Bruce, Doug, Hilary Joyce for sharing their memories.CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR AWARD WINNERS 2013 - 2014The Digital Trophy winners:1)2)3)4)5)6)Ron Manning Trophy for Digital Beginner: Jim EvansRon Manning Trophy for Digital Intermediate: Karen CardozoRon Manning Trophy for Digital Advanced: Sandra HawkinsHerb Martin Trophy for Best in Nature: Sandra HawkinsHerb Martin Trophy for Best in Creative: Annette SeipHerb Martin Trophy for Best in Pictorial: Marty PinkerThe Print Trophy winners:1)2)3)Simmonds Print Trophy for Prints Level 1: Efraim PerlSoltys Print Trophy for Prints Level 2: Ina MiglinWilf Natrass Trophy for Best Print: Ina MiglinThe Club Champion, Robbie Robinson Trophy:Tony Paine
