1. INTRODUCTIONMan is a microcosm while the cosmos is themacrocosm. In ancient times, the study of wisdom meantknowing how the cosmos came to be and how mancame to be. It is very essential for man to lift himself upfrom his localized conditioning and from awareness ofa localized entity.Engaging in such profound knowledge aids inthis regard. When we are ideating about the cosmos, the galaxies and the related intelligences, we are not somuch bothered about petty things in mundane life.Such speculations help us to break the boundaries ofour localized thought patterns and uplift us.11

In the recent times, such wisdom was given outthrough the work of Madame H. P. Blavatsky. With theesoteric keys, she could give out the wisdom of the timecycles, the root races, and the story of evolution ofMan.Her epochal work, Secret Doctrine is writtenin two parts, Cosmogenesis and Anthropogenesis. Shepresented ancient Wisdom in a fresh light for this timecycle. Again through Madame A. A. Bailey, cameWisdom on Cosmic Fire , Treatise on seven Raysetc. There is cosmic wisdom presented in these works. It is speculative wisdom which is informative, informative. The person who engages in informativewisdom starts relating to the wisdom inside. He startsexperiencing the cosmos within. Secret Doctrinewhich gives out such Wisdom is seen as a cosmicscripture.Likewise, Sri Aurobindo speaks of universalwisdom. His work, a magnum opus Savitri is thescripture of the 20th century and will be moreunderstood as a cosmic scripture in the future.12

The story of Hanuman (pronounced as Hanu-maan ) is to be understood in the light of suchWisdom given out by the Masters. Such knowledge isavailable only through the esoteric keys with a Masterof Wisdom. The Wisdom and the Master - both are equallyimportant. Without the Master, the wisdom is notrepresented. But people of lesser understanding alwayscreate a worship cult around a Master and build asystem around him without practicing. The Master isthe Master key. Through all Wisdom Teachings, Heleads us to the very Source of universal Wisdom, theDivine.A magnet is visible, not the magnetism. Theimpact of magnetism is through the magnet.Electricity is everywhere, but can be seen only throughthe illumination in a bulb. The bulb is only glowing bythe flow of electricity. From imperceptibility toperceptibility, wisdom is brought by a Master. Withoutthe bulb we cannot perceive electricity. The Masterpresents the cosmic presence through himself, like a13

magnet. When we do not look to magnetism but onlyto the magnet, we build religions. Otherwise, we havean opportunity to engage with such universal Wisdomcoming through them leading us to cosmic presence.14

2. ANTIQUITY OF HANUMAN & ROOT RACESThe story of Ramayana has the story of threeraces embedded in it, which no typical scholar coulddescribe. The Kama-Rupas or the monkey forms arefrom the Lemurian race. Ravana and his clan are fromthe Atlantean Race. Lord Rama is from the AryanRace. Ramayana is a story relating to three races and allare from different Manvantaras, but all on oneplatform. Only those who have the esoteric keys canexplain it.Madame Blavatsky could see all this andexpress because she could turn inward. MadameBlavatsky had a tremendous support coming to her, from one of the grandest Masters of Wisdom and she15

had unwavering faith in him. She demonstrated somany subjective and objective adventures. She upheldall that is true and valuable and destroyed all that isfalse. She said, I have not yet met a Brahmin scholar whoknows the true import of Ramayana . A typical Brahminwould feel offended when he reads such statements, because he thinks he knows, he discourses, and he doesso many things about the Scripture, not knowing whatit is!A root race relates to the beginning of a race. From the culmination of a race, there is the beginningof the next race. It is the same crop coming up toanother seed. The personality, the form, the outervehicular manifestation may be new, but as Souls wehave the same identities. Through evolution, we havegained different forms. It is like, even when we changeour dresses, we remain the same. Our identity is same. Our personality is theclothing of the Soul. The personality is needed for theSoul to experience and evolve. Without it, the Soul hasno possibility to experience.16

Currently, the fifth or the Aryan race is inevolution. In the first 3 races, it was the time for theSoul to prepare the form in its completeness. In thefourth race, it is complete. In the fifth, there isevolution. The planet is in existence for 30 millionyears. It went through its own changes six times thusfar. Many continents emerged, that were in waterbefore. What we see as Pacific Ocean was once a hugecontinent. Likewise, there was Atlantis. There was atime when there was no Europe. Everything constantlychanges in nature. The story of man on this planet is 18million years old.The first race is the sweat-born, the initialphase. It is known as Swetha Dweepa and itsinhabitants, the White Islanders. The second is theemergence of the two-fold beings, the egg-born,androgynous beings. This root race is known asHyberborean race. In the third root race, there arethree stages of development. First stage is the left andright divided in the higher throat centre and in thesecond stage there was development of the two sexes.17

In the third stage, the two-fold beings became separatebeings. The third root race is known as the Lemurianrace, the fourth Atlantean and now, the fifth root race isknown as the Aryan root race.Hanuman belongs to the Lemurian age. TheLemurians are all immortal beings. If they wish theycan manifest. If they wish to disappear, they can. Forthem there is no death. In the Lemurian time, therewas no death. Because man was only of three aspectsSat, Chit and Ananda. Third root race means they havethree qualities - they are existing; they know they areexisting and they are blissful. They have all the power.Sat, Chit and Ananda, the triple aspect was the state ofthe beings in the Lemurian Age.In the Atlantean times, they have taken to thefourth principle self will, self desire and now we alsocarry the same thing. He (the Creator) said to thecreated being, you know everything, you have thetruth, so do what you like . That is where, in the laterpart of the third root race and the early part of thefourth root race, people started using the will. There18

were some who were using the will for their benefit, and there were some who were using it for other sbenefit. Those who pursued it for themselves arerepresented by the Ravana and his clan. they destroyedthemselves by their own behaviour.Hanuman belongs to the Lemurian age whichlived much before the Atlanteans. Though he livedduring the time of Rama, his existence is from timesmuch earlier. During the Lemurian time, all humanswere Kama-Rupas. All those mentioned as monkeys inthe Ramayana, especially the major ones, whom we callMahaviras were Kama-Rupi. Kama-Rupi means, theycould take to any form, through Yoga. They wereVanaras , meaning Vishistha Naras , the special onesamong the Naras (the indestructible ones). That iswhat the man of this age wishes to achieve: to have aform of light and be able to take to any shape or form asrequired.Lemurians existed on a vast expanse of land. What we call the Indian ocean today, was also a bigpiece of land at that time. Pacific and Indian ocean19

together were part of Lemurian land. The western partof USA like California, Mexico etc. were a part ofLemuria. California is therefore, one of the ancientmost lands like India. Even today, the land of Indiavibrates with Lemurian energies.Lemuria has all possibilities, all potential, allpower, because it is the energy of Rudra inmanifestation. In Ramayana, the war was between theAtlantean and the Aryan, in which the Aryan wonagainst the Atlantean, with the help of Lemurian.Three different races came together in this epic. Thethird and the fifth race came together to defeat thewrongs of the fourth! Hanuman from the third rootrace, Rama was an Aryan, from fifth root race andRavana was an Atlantean from fourth root race.Atlantis was a huge piece of land which is todaycalled the Atlantic ocean which extended up-to Indianocean. A great civilization existed in that part of theglobe. On the other side, the American continent wasalso part of Atlantis. Borders of Europe, like Spain, were also part of Atlantis.20

When Atlantis sunk, this earth went throughmany changes. The globe today has differentcomposition of land and water than during that time.Europe did not exist, when Atlantis was there. It is offairly recent origin.During that time, man was very powerful andhad learnt everything about Sound. They knew magic, they could build, destroy and were able to transportmountains. There was every power with the man ofthat time, because he had the key to the Sound. Theycould fly, change form at will. The power to manifest, the magic was with them. Such energy is Asura Maya(Diabolic energy). This was the kingdom of Maya thatwe know as Mexico today. The western part of Globe still carries theAtlantean energy and the eastern part of the Globecarries Lemurian and Aryan energies. That is why, thewest always thinks of aggression and thinks ofoccupying others properties. All the colonization bythe English, the Spanish, the French, the German, theDutch and the Portugese trying to expand to every part21

of the globe is reflection of Atlantean energy. Suchexpansionist attitude comes from the west and not somuch from the east. It is not so with the Lemurianenergy. When India was in great glory, it never thoughtof occupying others lands. The Atlantean tendency is to manifest. In thewest, they believe in manifesting everything. They arevery engrossed with material. In the east, people dontthink of manifesting everything. The Rishis of the eastsay, manifest when required and de-manifest when notrequired. The eastern path has the influence of Lemuria, which is full of wisdom. It is the wisdom of being in theetheric plane. You can be in the subtle plane. If youwant, you can build and if you dont want, you candissolve. There is a story of Rishi Bharadwaja inRamayana. All the Rishis like Agasthya, Bharadwajacame down during the third and the fourth root races. In the story of Ramayana, when Rama comesto Bharadwaja ashrama along with his wife Sita andbrother Lakshmana, almost the all citizens of Ayodhya22

follow himbecause they didnt want to stay inAyodhya which is devoid of Rama. They want to bewith Rama that night. That evening Rama feels,What can I do for all these people to be comfortable inthe forest . I am the king I am supposed to protectthem and take care of them . Then Bharadwaja says,Do not worry, I will do it for you . With the power ofsound, he creates conveniences then and there, whichwere even superior to Ayodhya. All people just stay as ifthey are staying in their own house, but with muchbetter comfort. Three days and three nights, he extendshospitality to all the people. After that, Rama asks thecitizens of Ayodhya to return. After they go back,Bh a r a d w a j a Ma h a r s h i d i s s o l ve s t h e e n t i remanifestation with his power. This episode is ademonstration of the right use of sound and magic. It isto manifest when required and to dissolve once thepurpose is served. That is Wisdom.Among the Atlanteans, there were some whoused the power for general good. There were otherswho used the power for their own benefits. That is the23

time when, according to Puranas, there were DevaDanava Yuddhas or battles between the Gods andDiabolics. The Power of Aryans is Dharma and thePower of Atlanteans was the power of Magic. SuchMagic without dharma as the basis is Asura Maya. There was a conflict followed by a fresh start as Aryanrace.Among the Atlanteans, the nobler ones movedto Himalayas and there started a new civilization calledthe Aryan Civilization. The cradle of the Aryan race isthe Himalayas. We are now Aryans. All the humanbeings in Europe, (Europe is actually Aryopa), Iran,Iraq etc., were all a part of the Aryan culture. Indiansare all Aryans. Today the humanity is mostly Aryanswith different gradations in awareness.Hanuman, the Sadguru has descended in theLemurian time and has stayed on, on the planet for thebenefit of humanity. He is of such antiquity. His storyincludes the work with the beings of Atlantean andAryan races as well! Such is the magnitude of his work!24

3. HANUMANDuring the Lemurian time, all the divinebeings or devas like Ganesha, Kumara, Dattatreya, andHanuman incarnated on this planet. Till day, all thesebeings exist on the planet. These are not mere stories. All those beings that are mentioned in the Puranasbelong to the Lemurian time. Hanuman, known asMonkey God, is one of the few ancient most ones onthe planet from the Lemurian times.Hanuman is the one who carries the energy ofall the seven Maruths with him. That is why he is calledMaruti (pronounced as Maa-ru-ti). He is very muchpresent on earth and he has preferred to stay back onearth to help the earthly beings.25

His name is Maruti while the title given to himis Hanuman. Maruti is his original spiritual name.Though most of us know him as monkey god, he isreally not a monkey. He is Kama Rupa, meaning he cantake to whatever form he wants to. Just to pleasechildren, he preferred to appear in the form of amonkey! He has many forms. In Ramayana, when hefirst meets Lord Rama in the forest, he appears like avery chaste vibrant Vedic Brahmin. But to people likeus, because we are inconsistent in our thoughts, heappears like a monkey!Maruti preferred to come during the third rootrace when the Sons of Will came down. They arecalled Sons of Yoga. They are also called Cosmic Sonsof God. A few of them have come down during thattime to help humanity. This is where, the SecretDoctrine is of great help to understand almost allscriptures of the globe. With the help of esoteric Keys,Madame Blavatsky could give out this Wisdom.26

4. BIRTH OF HANUMANMaruti was born to a Lady called Anjana Devi.Anjana means the black-eyed one. Her eyes glitter lightand the eye ball is very black. She had a naturalbeautiful and shining black colour on the fringe of hereyes. In India, women apply a special preparation ofblack coloured paste made out of burning castor oilwith a cotton wick. It is an external application to makethe eye appear beautiful. But Anjana had it naturally. She was a beautiful woman.Anjana was married to a great devotee of LordSiva called Kesari. Kesari in Sanskrit means Lion. He iscalled lion because he carried the golden light ofleonine quality. All names that appear in the scriptures27

carry a meaning. Just as Anjana is most attractive by hereyes, Kesari too was, due to the golden colour. He wasof golden body.Anjana was so very attractive that the cosmicintelligence, Vayu was very favourable to her. Vayumeans the source of the Maruths. The Maruths havecome from Rudra via Vayu, the air, as airy fires.Maruths are the winds. The father had the blessing ofSiva (Rudra), the Cosmic Will. The mother wasblessed by the Cosmic intelligence, air (Vayu). Anjanaand Kesari conceived a baby. With the blessings of Rudra and Vayu, the boywas a combination of the energy of Rudra, and Vayu.He also had the golden colour of the father and theblack and beautiful eyes of the mother. Such a baby wasgrowing in the womb of Anjana. This can beconsidered as a rebirth of all the seven Maruths on theplanet, to help the humanity.28

5. MARUTI AND VALIWhen the baby was growing in the womb ofAnjana Devi, there was another great being in the formof a monkey, who was ruling a certain region in thePacific Ocean. At that time, all the islands ofAndaman, Singapore, Bali, Sumatra, Malaysia,Jakarta, were not islands but a part of a continuousland. What we know as Andaman today was actuallyHanuman during those times. Jakarta is not Jakarta aswe call it today, but it was Yoga-karta. And Bali is notBali, it is Vali. Va, and Ba are interchangeable sounds.Vali was the king of that entire region. Anjanaand Kesari were well known associates of the king. Theking suspected that there is a powerful being in the29

womb of the lady, and had his own fears. He wanted toeliminate the baby in the womb itself. It is horrifying toknow what he did! He caught hold of Anjana Devi andpoured molten gold into her womb. The child in the womb received it with a smile,as his natural cover of protection. The molten goldcould not cause harm to him or to the mother! That ishow he has the golden aura of the father within. On theoutside, he has a body armour of gold which is naturaland not separable from his body. His very body is ofgolden colour! Within, the nature is also golden!Further, he has the vibrations of Rudra and Vayu asMaruths in him.Maruti was born in the month of Vaisakha.Moon was in the Poorva Bhadra constellation on thetenth descending moon phase. It was a Saturdayafternoon.[*1]. Since the baby has all the collectiveenergies of Maruths, he was named as Maruti by theparents. In him the energy of Rudra, the energy ofVayu and the energy of Maruths were posited. Thecolour is golden and his nature is benevolence.30

As he came in to the world, the king Vali, wasfrightened of him. A king is always frightened of thosewho are more powerful than himself in the kingdom.Because the father is in the royal court of the King Vali,as the boy Maruti, grew, he sensed that the king isgetting more and more wary and scared of him. Hetold Vali, don't you worry, I am not your enemy. I ama general benefactor. I am here to support beings. I amhere to enlighten beings. I do not destroy the Law. I aman eternal supporter of the Law. As far as you are withthe Law, you don't have to fear me. I will also supportyou. If you do not follow the Law, I don't fight withyou since you are my king. Instead, I will withdrawfrom this place . So, the king was happy. The boy wasgrowing in the kingdom of Vali.[*1 - Ref: Parasara Samhita]31

6. MARUTI RECEIVES THE TITLE HANUMANMaruti was very powerful because of theenergies he carried. As a five-year-old, one finemorning, he saw the Sun rising in the sky. He thoughtit was some fruit in orange hue. At once, with the helpof the energy of Maruths that he carried, he moved upto the sun and gulped him. It was like a complete solareclipse. Then, the celestial king Indra used his celestialweapon, called vajra, on Maruti. It hit him on the jaw.Maruti fainted and fell on the ground. Hisfather was not happy that his son was hit by Indra. Heprayed for the well-being of the son. Then along withRudra, Vayu and Indra also came, apologized to thefather of the boy and said, I didn't know your son is of32

such capacity to gulp a solar ball. To save the creation, Ihad to do it. Dont worry. Nothing will happen to yourson. He is a great benefactor .Meanwhile, The boy woke up and said, I willretain the mark of the hit on the jaw as a souvenir .That is why he has a projected jaw. He said, Let this berecorded as an event. I shall hold this form . The firstlogos (Rudra) gave him a boon that he shall never die.He said, There is no death to this boy. He shall be aChiranjeevi. He shall be for ever. As long as he wants,he can be on earth. He can move anywhere he likes .With the help of Vayu, he can take to any form he likes. This form does not bind him. The Kumaras also cameand gave him blessings. It was a huge event on theplanet. The boy said, I am interested in the Sun. Iwish to be around him and learn all knowledge relatingto the universe. Because to me he looks to be the bestteacher . Moving along with the Sun in the sky, helearnt all Wisdom. He is well versed with the fourVedas.33

All these are the incidents of the Lemuriantimes. Today they may sound like fairy tales, but theywere the order of the day back then.Because of this adventure with the Sun, he gotspecial hanus (cheeks). He is therefore calledHanuman . He started looking like a monkey! After he grew up, with the help of Maruths, heconducted many superhuman acts which can be seenin Ramayana. He can fly, he can change his form. Withthe help of Cosmic air, he can grow huge, or he canbecome very tiny. He can lift and move mountains. Hecan teach wisdom. And there is no equal to him inWill, Knowledge and Intelligent activity. There arevery many great details about him.He served the Lord when he came down as theAvatar of Rama and supported him. WithoutHanuman's support, the Avatar of Rama would nothave accomplished all that was accomplished.Hanuman is one of his titles. Since he is bornwith the energy of Rudra or Shankara, he is calledShankara Tanaya, meaning born of Shankara. He is34

Vayu Putra. He is Anjana Suta, the Son of Anjana Devi.He is also worshiped in the name of Anjaneya. He isKesari nandana, the Son of Kesari.35

7. HANUMAN AND RAMAYANAIn the story of Ramayana, Hanuman finds Sitawho is imprisoned in an island and enables her to joinRama, the Lord. Hanuman is the Sadguru and Rama, the Divine. It is significant to note that the one whoconducts the release of Sita is the Son of Air .Hanuman is also known as Vayu Putra .Sita is representative of the individual Soulwho is imprisoned in an island. We are all imprisonedin the islands of our own thoughts. We build our owncircumscriptions and build our own world within theworld, which is separated from the world.Sita getting imprisoned in the island is asymbolic representation of separativity from total life.36

Desire causes such separativity. And then later she seeksto re-join Lord Rama and conducts penance. Thenappears the teacher Hanuman, who is the son of Air,meaning air personified. If you take Mother Sita as the imprisonedindividual Soul (Jeevatma), and Rama as the SuperSoul (Paramatma), Hanuman is the one who acts asmessenger between Sita and Rama. He is an agent ofRama that goes to Sita, informs Sita about Rama. Hecollects information about Sita and informs Ramaabout Sita. This is the Teacher principle and he ensuresthat the Soul and the Super-Soul join together. This is asignificant Yoga principle, very beautifully illustratedin Ramayana.Ramayana is an epic of 24,000 verses, full ofsecrets of the Universe and man, in a very beautiful andsymbolic manner, it lays down the Path of light. If oneknows the symbolism, the epic gives such a liberationby application of the principles laid down in theScriptures in daily life. It is of 24,000 verses, which is intune with the number of Gayatri. Each verse also has37

24 syllables. Ramayana, the epic, contains all thesecrets relating to Yoga. Lanka, in Ramayana, issymbolic of the body. The three brothers in Lankare p re s e n t t h e t r i p l e q u a l i t i e s - R a va n a a sdynamism(Rajas), Kumbhakarna as inertia(Tamas)and Vibhishana as poise(Sattva). Only the poised oneescapes from Lanka, the body, while the other twodestroy themselves in Lanka. Hanuman, the MonkeyGod, is the Sadguru. He enters Lanka, inspires theSoul, Sita, and exits Lanka, the body.A Sadguru can enter into his disciple s bodyand inspire them. Such are the potentials worked outby the working with air. As the student works with air,the presence of the Sadguru emerges from within, conducting the necessary adjustments in the studentand assists in the required transformations. Workingwith air enables the individual Soul to reach theuniversal Soul. Hanuman here is the principle ofTeacher. Sundarakanda of Ramayana gives expositionof this story very beautifully. We are asked to read andmake a Parayana of Sundarakanda.38

The mainland is represented by Ayodhya, theheart centre. The separativity or island is representedby Lanka, the Muladhara. The Soul has taken to sideways. The Soul is Sita. By desiring the golden deer, shewas kidnapped to Lanka, the island, representingseparative existence. Therefore, the separation resultedwhen the desire kidnapped the Soul to separativeexistence. The Soul feels the agony of separation and theignorance of desire. She desires communion with theLord Rama. The process is Yoga, that is the individualSoul joining the universal Soul. Sita seeks reunion withthe universal Soul, Rama. She makes strongcontemplation and slowly comes out of theenslavement of matter. The outer life is a mechanicallife for a student of Yoga. It is not a big thing. It onlyrequires a little comfort, food. The inner life requireslooking inward. Objective life, she simplified so much. She does not wear ornaments, does not care for food, nor enjoyed nourishing the body. She is disinterestedin robes, ornaments, food and luxuries. Her only39

interest is in Rama, within. She is a student, notengrossed any more in the outer. She is waiting in theinner chamber for the Lord. The inner is responded bythe appearance of the monkey God, Hanuman, the sonof air and the Teacher. The entry into the in-side is through thepassage of air. Then, when you wait inside the chamberof the heart, you get invited by the teacher, arepresentative of the air, which connects the mundanewith the super-mundane. Hanuman is the principle ofair, who can prepare the way for the reunion of Souland personality. That is in brief, his Presence as thePresence of Sadguru in the Sundarakanda ofRamayana. The Ramayana has six Kandas (chapters).Sundara Kanda is the fifth chapter. Hanuman appearsin the fourth chapter, Kishkinda Kanda and leads tothe sixth chapter, Yuddha Kanda. There are Six centresin the body. The sixth is the Ajna, the third eye. Thefourth chapter is symbolic of the fourth center in us,the heart cen
