Last spring theHeritage Community Association came outwith these signs in many differentlanguages that said, "I am glad we areneighbours!" Well, it rings true for me. Iam glad we are neighbours and we havebecome a wonderful mix of ethnicbackgrounds, cultures and circumstanceshere in the Coronation Park area.levels. The City has committed to invitingthe community into another process ofdeveloping a site plan. This will take placein the very near future. My hope is thatmany, many folks will attend. When I moved back into CP, there was agreat sense of pride in ownership. Lawnswere cut, weeds were kept to a minimumand back then we had good streets andsidewalks that you could actually walk onwithout worrying about tripping overshifted cement. Our area has slipped a bit.I hope we can revitalize our community soit stands out beyond other communities inthis city, that housing prices remainhigher so that people will want to movehere and that there will be a sense of pridein belonging to this community! My name is Darrell Reine and I am the newchairperson of the association. First, I wantto say, "Many Thanks" to the existing boardwhich is small and has carried a great dealon their shoulders. I have lived inCoronation Park twice, during my growingup years, and then I moved back here 24years ago, with my family. We love theneighbourhood and I want to preserve ourcommunity. You will notice in this newsletter that allThis fall, the City invited the community to kinds of programs are being offered. Ia consultation as to what could possiblyknow there are many things that tug on ourhappen with the PAR 3 golf course on the time, resources and energy but my hope issouthwest corner of the community. Ithat none of these programs have to bebelieve there are many people with ancancelled. When this happens it isinterest in this and we need to work on how disappointing for those who havewe can bring a common voice to this con- registered, and it means the instructorssultation. I believe the view of thewho have put this in their schedule are thenresidents was loud and clear that we do not looking for other places to fill their time.want the space to be turned into housing. As we go into the new year, my wish forWe have plenty. I think the key messageeach of you is to enjoy your community, was to keep it a green space or a space that meet your neighbours and share in yourcould have a variety of activities for all age stories of life! - Darrell

Page 231st Annual Craft Sale wrap up—Some of the best moments of the craft sale actuallyhappen behind the scenes; getting to know the participantswho share their talents with the community. She has now written 14 booksJudith Kehler & Prairie Gold Chorus at the veryincluding a novelette chronicling her grandmother’ssuccessful sale in November.
