Father Raymond J. Remke and Christina Wright meet with Cardinal Ferdinando Filoniduring the National Meeting/Pilgrimage for the Pontifical Mission Societies in the UnitedStates. The pilgrimage to Rome, Italy, was held in May of this year and had a theme of Missio AdLimina: Threshold of the Apostles. Representing our diocese was Father Raymond J. Remke, director, and Christina Wright, mission coordinator. It was such a special blessing for them to beable to be part of this spiritual journey. A meeting of all directors and office staff took place at thecentral administrative offices in Rome. The office in Rome is under the direction of theCongregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Cardinal Fernando Filoni is the Prefect of theCongregation. On June 11th after receiving a blessing from Bishop Foley, nine Scouts from Troop 91 ofAnnunciation of the Lord Catholic Church left for a week at summer camp. This year the Trooptraveled to Camp Craig on the Boxwell Scout Reservation outside of Nashville, Tennessee. TheScouts spent 6 nights camping on the banks of the Cumberland River working on Scout skills andmerit badges every day. While there, the boys learned to live by the Scout Law and Scout Motto. The boys only thought they were there to have fun, but didn't realize they were learning to grow asyoung men and young Christians. The Scouts and their parents would like to express their thanks to Scoutmaster Barry Densmoreand parent Avery McElroy for taking the boys to camp and spending the week there with them.If you know of a boy who could benefit from Scouting and would enjoy the fun and excitingactivities of Scouting ,please contact Greg Ogle at 256-337-6013.
