But this lack of clarity no longer exists. I just received anovel "GPS" that showed me clearly what circuitous routes I havetaken, where I am at the present and how close I am to myultimate destination. This "GPS" is the AUDITIONS! My Level 2Audition results showed me how far I had come on my journey. Icould look back with pride and see the vastness of the groundalready covered and could look eagerly forward to the wonders thatlay ahead. These wonders are within reach. I know because I cansee the coordinates and they are not as far away as I had thought!I was holding myself back by focusing on what I was giving me difficulties. I was trudging up and down thesame old paths, as I could not see that we were more than ready to move on to new ground. We had quite a presence- Pat, Linda, Mark and Leslie with the draft team of Thunder andLightning pulling a wagon FILLED with the Parelli Team, 21 riders onhorseback (some even went bridless!) and our 12-horse semi trailerfollowing behind. I am pretty sure she hasn't had any badexperiences, but I have worked on it every day for the last 5 days and nothing seems to work. Once she getsher head half way there, she will then turn her hindquaters around. What should I do?Answer:Just hang in there.never seen it take longer than 2 days! Set it up, wait patiently, rubbing your horse asyou wait, and don't release until your horse stands still.then release right away so she understands she didthe right thing. (Naturally, if your horse panicked you'd have to let go. Don't get into a fight, but if you offerit gently your horse will not panic. Just stay with her until she works it out). One other thought is to get herto do it on the ground first. Oh! And make sure your body is relaxed and your hand with the rein comes tojust above your knee and not your belly button. Jack says, "This is a very smart horse, with a good Horsenality. He is very cooperative and learnsquickly. First time out I put him in a pond up to his shoulders with no problem. He goes in a single trailerwith no problem. He puts two or four feet on a pedestal with no problem. Jumps two foot logs with noproblem. I could go on and on but it would be braggin'!" This is another great father/son activity as Pat'staken up golf to enjoy with his father and now Jack has taken up horses.
