WHEN ARE Y2 SATS? 3rd – 27th May Anytime in May Spread over a number of days

WHAT TESTS WILL BECOMPLETED? English Reading Paper 1 (combined reading prompt and answerbooklet) – approx. 30 minutes Questions and answers on the same page. Breaks will be used if required. English Reading Paper 2 (reading booklet and reading answerbooklet) – approx. 40 minutes Separate booklet for answers. Children will be stopped during the test if a teacher feelsappropriate. Breaks will be used if required. Both papers look at comprehension skills rather than ‘howmany words they can recognise’.

WHAT TESTS WILL BECOMPLETED? There is no test for writing. This is assessed continuously in classusing the target cards. A teacher assessment judgement will be made at the end of theyear.

IS THERE ANYTHING TO WORRYABOUT?No! We use Teacher Assessment daily – weknow what level they’re working at! These tests back up our assessments We just don’t want any surprises!

TEACHER ASSESSMENTSWhat will we be reporting? As a school, we will not be telling parents test scores However, you may request the score (if interested) You will be told in the end of year report: Working towards the expected standard Working at the expected standard Working at greater depth within the expectedstandard There will be a fourth category for pupils who do notmeet the ‘working towards’ standard.
