Always follow basic safety precautions when using the VarioskanFlash to reduce the risk of injury, biohazardous contamination, fire,or electrical shock.2. Read this user manual in its entirety prior to operating theinstrument. Failure to read, understand, or follow the instructionsin the manual may result in damage to the instrument, injury tolaboratory and operating personnel or poor instrumentperformance.3. Observe all “Warning”, “Caution”, and “Note” statements as well assafety symbols and markings on the instrument and in thedocumentation.4. Never open any other covers of the Varioskan Flash than thedispenser sliding cover (Figure 2–2) or measurement chamber door(Figure 2–2) while the instrument is plugged into a power source.5. Never open the measurement chamber door while the instrument isbusy (when the LED indicator is orange).6. You can push in the tray manually only when the instrument isswitched off.7. Never force a microplate into the instrument.8. The Varioskan Flash is intended for laboratory research use only.Observe proper laboratory safety precautions, such as wearingprotective clothing and following approved laboratory safetyprocedures.
