CQB USER GUIDE Layout 1 6/25/15 3:24 PM Page 3How To Use Your RiflescopeEyepiece FocusingThe eyepiece can be focused so that thereticle appears sharp and black to anyindividual’s eye. Adjusting the focus isquick and easy to do, just follow thisprocedure:1. Point the scope at the sky or a plainwall and take a quick glance throughthe scope. If the reticle appears sharpand black, no further adjustment isnecessary.2. If the reticle does not appear sharp andblack, take quick glances through thescope while rotating the eyepiecefocus ring until the reticle pattern issharp and black.NOTE: Do not look through the eyepieceas you turn the focus ring. Your eyes willadjust to the out-of-focus condition.2

CQB USER GUIDE Layout 1 6/25/15 3:24 PM Page 4Windage/Elevation AdjustmentThe windage and elevation knobs onBurris 1-4x models are designed forprecise adjustment. The knobs arecalibrated so that 1 click .5 MOA.Both dials can be reset to “0” once thescope is sighted-in. Once you havesuccessfully zeroed your scope, youcan set the zero on your dials withthese simple steps:1. With turret caps removed, grip orpress down on knob top firmly andkeep knob from turning.2. Put pen or other small object intothe small hole located on the dial,180º from “0”.3. Keeping firm grip or pressure on theknob, use the pen to turn the dialback to zero, lining up the numberzero with the white indicator dot.Only the numbered dial shouldmove – do not allow the entire knobto move or else you will alter yourwindage and elevation zero settings.NOTE: You do not have to set the zeroon your dials for your scope to functionproperly. Doing so can give you peaceof mind that your zero is set, plus youcan easily confirm if it has moved atany time, but this step is optional.3

The intensityof the illumination is controlled by arotary illumination switch located onthe left side of the adjustment turret.The switch has 10intensity levels andan “Off” positionin between eachlevel. The reticleis powered by a3-volt lithium cellbattery #CR2032.To install a new battery, simply unscrewthe battery cap on the rotary switch andinstall the new battery flat side ( ) up. Itis advisable to remove the battery forlong-term storage (over a month).Digital Dimmer Switch forFullfield TAC30The digital dimmer switch is a rubberbutton located on the left side of theadjustment turret on top of the batterycap. The digital dimmer switch requiresa firm push to activate or change intensitylevels. The required pressure preventsaccidental changes in illumination levels.Battery CapRubberButton4

Each timethe button is pressed, the illuminationwill either increase or decrease intensity.There are 8 intensity levels. To reversethe direction of intensity, hold the buttondown for 3 seconds and then depressthe button until the desired illuminationis achieved.To turn the illumination off, depressand hold the button down while lookingthrough the scope until the light turnsoff (5 seconds). To conserve power, itautomatically turns off two hours afterits last use. The illumination is poweredby a 3-volt lithium cell battery #2032.To install a new battery, simply unscrewthe battery cap and install the newbattery flat side ( ) up. It is advisableto remove the battery for long-termstorage (over a month).Mounting the ScopeThese Burris 1-4x riflescopes require30mm rings. We recommend usinghigh-quality rings and bases, like theBurris Xtreme Tactical Rings and XtremeTactical Bases. Quality componentsensure that your scope will remainsafely and securely mounted, and willprovide the maximum accuracy. Usecare when mounting your scope asimproper mounting can damage yourscope.5

In the event thatthe lenses are subjected to dust, dirt,or mud, follow these steps to cleanand protect the lens surface. Failure toremove grit before final cleaning issure to damage lens coatings. Coarsedirt/debris must be removed from thelens surface. The most convenient wayto clean a lens surface is to use a LensPen. Position the scope so particles willfall away from the lens, and then usethe Lens Pen or soft brush to gentlywhisk away the debris while blowingon the lens to dislodge the particles.For heavy dirt, like dried mud, use aspray of clean water or lens cleaningfluid to remove the dirt.Your Burris riflescope will providereliable performance given reasonablecare and treatment. All movingassemblies are permanently lubricated.Only occasional cleaning of the outsideof the scope and the exterior lenses isrequired. Never disassemble yourscope. Disassembly by anyone otherthan our factory will void the warranty.If you have any other problems withyour riflescope, contact BurrisCustomer Service.6
