All students are challenged to performat their highest level and will show continuous improvement.Strategies: Deliver an articulated K-12 core curriculum that is aligned with standards and taught with fidelity; Utilize assessment data thatmeasures progress and informs instructional decisions; Provide additional instructional support for every student falling below achievementexpectations; align resources for classroom support, professional development and evidence –based teaching strategies.Measures: Improvement in individual scores in reading, writing, math, and science as indicated by district and state assessments; Increasednumbers of students moving up in level of achievement; Increased enrolment and success in AP and advanced courses and exams; Increasednumbers of students prepared for success in the workplace, post-secondary education, and civic responsibilities; Increased number of ninthgraders on track to graduate.SMART Goal: Develop instructional strategies and interventions to achieve standards for English Language Arts (ELA).By June 2016, the number of 3rd grade students at Discovery Elementary meeting or exceeding proficiency inEnglish/Language Arts will increase by 5 percentage points from the 2014-15 school year, from 65% to at least 70%, or 15percentage points higher than the state average, as measured by the 2016 SBA.Rationale: Interventions Providing targeted strategies will help students meet their learning needs. Formative Assessment-Progress monitoring and feedback will help inform instruction, foster achievement, and celebratesuccesses. Leadership-Children succeed when we believe they can succeed, inspire their ownership for learning, and engage their leadershipskills for learning.version 1.0
