Do not use the appliance on (orclose to) a hot gas or electricburner, or where it could toucha heated oven or surface.

Do not let the power cord hangover the edge of a table orcounter, or touch hot surfaces. To avoid electric shock, donot immerse the cord, plugor motor base in water (orother liquids). When operating the oven,keep a minimum distance of4" (10cm) of space on bothsides of the appliance and 6"(15cm) above. Do not touch hot surfaces.To avoid burns, use extremecaution when removing pans,dishes and accessories such asthe included broiling rack andbaking pan, that contain hot oilor other hot liquids. Do not lay cooking utensils,baking pans or dishes onthe glass door. Do not leave the doorstanding open for extendedperiods of time. Do not store any item on topof the oven when in operationexcept those describedon this book. Do not place cardboard, plastic,paper, or other flammablematerials in the oven. Do not cover crumb tray or anypart of the oven with metal foil.This will cause overheatingof the oven. Caution should be exercisedwhen using pans and dishesconstructed of materials otherthan metal. Ensure pans anddishes are oven safe beforeusing in the oven. Caution should be exercisedwhen using lids in the oven, aspressure build up in a coveredpan or dish may cause hotingredients to expel or the dishto crack. Do not place sealed orairtight containers in the oven. Oversized food and metalutensils must not be inserted inthe oven as they may create fireor risk of electric shock. The use of accessories andattachments not recommendedor supplied with this oven maycause injuries. This appliance is for householduse only. Do not use in anytype of moving vehicles.Do not use the applianceoutdoors, or for anything otherthan its intended use. Misusecan cause injury. If the appliance is to be: leftunattended, cleaned, moved,assembled or stored, alwaysswitch the unit off and unplugthe cord from the power outletand allow to cool completely.3

Quick Start GuideThis Quick Start Guide is designed forfirst time use.For safety and more information, refer to therest of the Instruction Book.8. Turn the FUNCTION dial to the right untilthe indicator reaches the PIZZA function.FUNCTIONDIALPREPARING THE OVENIn order to remove any protective substanceson the heating elements, it is necessary to runthe oven empty for 15 minutes. Ensure the areais well ventilated as the oven may emit vapors.These vapors are safe and are not detrimentalto the performance of the oven.1. Remove and safely discard any packingmaterial, promotional labels and tapefrom the oven.2. Remove the crumb tray, wire rack, broilingrack, baking pan and pizza pan from thepolyfoam packaging. Wash them with a softsponge in warm, soapy water then rinse anddry thoroughly.3. Wipe the interior of the oven witha soft, damp sponge. Dry thoroughly.4. Place the oven on a flat, dry surface. Ensurethere is a minimum distance of 4" (10cm) ofspace on both sides of the appliance and 6”(15cm) above.5. Insert the crumb tray into the oven.6. Unwind the power cord completelyand insert the power plug in to agrounded power outlet.7. The oven alert will sound and the LCDscreen will illuminate. The function optionswill appear with an indicator on theTOAST setting.8ROTATE9. Press the START/CANCEL button. Thebutton backlight will illuminate red, theLCD screen will illuminate orange and theoven alert will sound.10. The LCD screen will indicate a blinking‘PREHEATING’. Once the oven has reachedthe set temperature, the temperaturealert will sound.11. The timer will be displayed andautomatically begin to count down.12. At the end of the cooking cycle, the ovenalert will sound, the START/ CANCELbutton backlight will go out and the LCDscreen will illuminate blue.13. The oven is now ready to use.

FunctionsOPERATING YOUR BREVILLE OVEN1. Position the wire rack so the spokes faceupward and insert it into the desiredrack position. The rack positions areconveniently printed on the right-hand sideof the oven door window.4. The bottom figure on the LCD screenindicates the preset cooking time forthe selected setting. For the TOAST andBAGEL settings it indicates the numberof slices; for the PIZZA setting it indicatesthe size of the pizza. Turn the TIME dial tothe left to reduce the cooking time or to theright to increase the cooking time.TIMEDIAL2. Turn the FUNCTION dial until theindicator on the LCD screen reachesthe desired setting.3. The top figure on the LCD screen indicatesthe preset cooking temperature for theselected setting. For the TOAST andBAGEL settings it indicates the darknesslevel. Turn the TEMPERATURE dial to theleft to reduce the temperature or to the rightto increase the . For settings without a preheat cycle(TOAST, BAGEL, BROIL, REHEAT,WARM), place the food directly on thewire rack or on the included pizza pan,broiling rack and/or baking pan. Ensure thefood is centered in the oven for the mosteven cooking.a) Close the oven door.b) Press the START/CANCEL button.The button backlight will illuminate red, theoven alert will sound, and the LCD screenwill illuminate orange.c) The timer will be displayed and begin tocount down. The cooking temperatureand time can be adjusted during thecooking cycle.

6. For settings that feature a preheat cycle(BAKE, ROAST, PIZZA, COOKIES, SLOWCOOK), press the START/CANCEL buttonbefore placing food in the oven. The buttonbacklight will illuminate red, the oven alertwill sound and the LCD screen will indicatea blinking ‘PREHEATING’ while the oven isheating up.a) When the oven is ready for use, the blinking‘PREHEATING’ will go out, the oven alertwill sound and the timer will start countingdown. Place the food in the oven, eitherdirectly on the wire rack or on the includedpizza pan, broiling rack and/or baking pan.Ensure the food is centered in the oven forthe most even cooking.b) Close the oven door.c) The timer will continue to count down.The cooking temperature and time can beadjusted during the cooking cycle.7. At the end of the cooking cycle, the ovenalert will sound, the START/ CANCELbutton backlight will go out and the LCDscreen will illuminate blue.TOAST FUNCTIONThe TOAST function browns and crisps theoutside of your bread while keeping the insidesoft and moist. This function is also ideal forEnglish muffins and frozen waffles.1. Insert the wire rack, with the spokesfacing upward, into the middle rackheight position.2. If toasting 1–3 slices, center the slices on thewire rack. If toasting 4-6 slices, evenly spacethem with 2-3 slices at the front of the wirerack and 2-3 slices at the back of the rack.3. Close the oven door.4. Turn the FUNCTION dial until theindicator on the LCD screen reaches theTOAST function. The top figure on the LCDscreen indicates the preset darkness setting‘4’, while the bottom figure indicates thepreset number of slices ‘4’.NOTEThe cooking cycle can be stopped at any timeby pressing the START/ CANCEL button. Thiswill cancel the cycle and the button backlightwill go out.MAGNETIC AUTO-EJECT RACKWhen the wire rack is inserted into the middlerack position, it will automatically eject halfwayout of the oven when the door is opened so youcan easily remove your toasted items.Always open the door slowly when the wirerack is in this position to prevent the rack fromejecting too quickly.5. The darkness setting and number ofslices can be adjusted before or during thetoasting cycle.a) The darkness setting is indicated by therow of circles at the top of the LCD screen.Turn the TEMPERATURE dial to the left toreduce the darkness setting, or to the rightto increase it. b) The number of slices is displayed as thebottom figure on the LCD screen. Turn theTIME dial to the left to reduce the numberof slices, or to the right to increase it. Thenumber of slices ranges from ‘1’ to ‘6’.6. Press the START/CANCEL button to startthe TOAST function. The button backlightwill illuminate red, the oven alert will sound,and the LCD screen will illuminate orange.7. The timer will be displayed andautomatically begin to count down. Thetime can be adjusted during the toastingcycle by turning the TIME dial. The cyclecan be stopped at any time by pressing theSTART/CANCEL button.BAGEL FUNCTIONThe BAGEL function crisps the insides ofyour cut bagel while only lightly toasting theoutside. This function is also ideal for toastingcrumpets or thick sliced specialty breadswhich require one side to be toasted morethan the other.1. Insert the wire rack, with the spokes facingupward, into the middle rackheight position.2. If toasting 1–3 bagel halves, center the sliceson the wire rack. If toasting 4–6 halves,evenly space them with 2–3 halves at thefront of the wire rack and 2–3 halves at theback of the rack.NOTEPRESS8. At the end of the TOAST cycle, the ovenalert will sound. The START/CANCELbutton backlight will go out and the LCDscreen will illuminate blue.12The inside (cut side) of the bagel must alwaysface upwards towards the top heating elements.This allows the cut side to get crisp while thecrust is only lightly toasted.3. Close the oven door.4. Turn the FUNCTION dial until theindicator on the LCD screen reaches theBAGEL function. The top figure on the LCDscreen indicates the preset darkness setting‘4’, while the bottom figure indicates thepreset number of bagel halves ‘4’.

BAKE FUNCTIONThe BAKE function cooks food evenlythroughout. This function is ideal for bakingcakes, muffins, brownies and pastries. TheBAKE function is also ideal for cookingpre-packaged frozen meals such as lasagnaand pot pies.1. Insert the wire rack, with the spokes facingupward, into the bottom rack heightposition. Note that some baked goods, suchas brownies or pastries, may be more suitedto the middle rack height position.2. Close the oven door.3. Turn the FUNCTION dial until theindicator on the LCD screen reaches theBAKE function. The top figure on theLCD screen indicates the preset BAKEtemperature of ‘325 F’, while the bottomfigure indicates the preset time of‘:30 MINS’. The preset CONVECTIONsetting will also be displayed.5. Press the START/CANCEL button toactivate the BAKE function. The buttonbacklight will illuminate red, the ovenalert will sound and the LCD screen willilluminate orange. The LCD screen willindicate a blinking ‘PREHEATING’.6. Once the oven has reached the settemperature, the temperature alertwill sound.7. Place food, positioned on the includedbaking pan or other oven-proof dish, onthe center of the wire rack so air will flowaround all sides of the food.8. After the PREHEATING alert has sounded,the timer will automatically begin to countdown. The temperature and time can beadjusted during the baking cycle by turningthe corresponding TEMPERATURE andTIME dial. The cycle can be stopped atany time by pressing the START/CANCEL button.START/CANCELPRESSPREHEATING4. The baking temperature and time can beadjusted before or during the baking cycle.a) The baking temperature is displayed asthe top figure on the LCD screen. Turnthe TEMPERATURE dial to adjust thebaking temperature from 120 F/50 C to amaximum of 450 F/230 C.b) The baking time is displayed as the bottomfigure on the LCD screen. Turn the TIMEdial to select up to 2 hours for temperaturesabove 300 F/150 C and up to 10 hours fortemperatures below 300 F/150 F.14WHEN ATTEMPERATURE9. At the end of the BAKE cycle, the oven alertwill sound. The START/CANCEL buttonbacklight will go out and the LCD screenwill illuminate blue.
