Thegroup has performed with enter tainers including Jay Leno, CyndiLauper, and Tony Bennett. TheParty Crashers have a deep playlistthat spans from classic tunes by TheBeatles, Stevie Wonder, and AC/DC, to songs by contemporaryartists like Katy Perry, Bruno Mars,and Lady Gaga.The concert is sponsored by theElks National Foundation. Foodand refreshments will be availablefor purchase during the celebration.Knowing what to expectat conventionExperience is crucial for makingthis convention run smoothly.James Hahn, the Local SupportCommittee Chairman, was involvedin the two most recent St. Louisconventions in 1991 and 2003, andsought assistance from ConventionCoordinator Roland Seal, who wasco-chair in 2003.Preparations for this year startedlast July in San Antonio, whenHahn met with Elks from Texasduring the 154th convention. Actualplanning and meeting began lastAugust, a pin was designed soonafter, and the committee startedaccepting volunteers for the eventlast September. Nearly 200 Elksfrom across Missouri will lendassistance this week.Organizing so many volunteersisn’t easy. Hahn and his grouphave to juggle the availability,personal requirements, andskills of the volunteers.“[It’s] challenging butrewarding to see all thiswork come to fruition,”Hahn said. “I am so veryp roud o f o u r L o c a l S u p p o r tCommittee’s effort and know by theend of this convention, all ourvolunteers will be proud to haveplayed a role in the success I knowit will be.”Meet me in St. Louis, againThis year is the sixth time the ElksConvention has been in St. Louis,with previous conventions in 2003,1991, 1953, 1939, and 1899.The Convention is an opportunityfor St. Louis and Missouri to showoff. Klatt Virtual LodgesMembership records of current paid-upMembers whose Lodge lost its Charter duringthe current Elks year, either by revocationor surrender, have been transferred to theVirtual Lodge associated with the state towhich the former Lodge was located.Virtual Lodge Members receive a newmember s hip card for the current Elks year,which ends March 31st. This card will havetheir new Virtual Lodge Number on it andwill be in effect until April 1st of the followingElks year. The card allows entry to all Lodges,the same as the previous card did.During the first weeks of 2020, a dues noticewill be sent by Grand Lodge to the VirtualLodge Members. Upon payment, they willgain another 12 months to find a new Lodgein the Order. If the current Virtual LodgeMembers do not renew or they have not founda new Lodge by March 31, 2021, they will,unfortunately, be dropped from the Order.

Be there for the Opening Ceremony at 4 p.m. on Sunday.“The grandeur of the Opening Session, the Memorial Service, thegeneral business meetings, and the voting session certainly willmake you very proud to be an Elk,” Gleason said. Stop by all the booths and introduce yourself to fellowMembers. It will help you connect names and faces. Attend the mandated meetings in the morning and a seminaror two in the afternoon. Meetings allow Members to learn aboutprojects they would like to get involved with in their Lodge. See the State Major Projects. “[They] give you an idea whatother states are doing for the people in their state,” said FrankKerby, PDDGER from Blue Springs, MO Lodge No. 2509.
