Page 2Volume 6, Issue 1President’s MessageSharon SmithHappy New Year to everyone. It’s that time when many people make resolutions about what they wantto do to make their lives better in the new year. I would certainly encourage all the members of Corvette Club Santa Barbara to make a resolutionto participate actively in as many CCSB events as possible in 2012. Theevents are a great opportunity for you to enjoy time with other people whoshare your love of the Corvette. The board members also welcome yourhelp in the planning and organizing of events. As Membership Chair, Pat Bloom, has been asking members for contributions for the newsletter on varioustopics. Thanks to those of you who have shared information for the newsletter. We are a Corvette family andit is so nice to get to know each other better. If you have any ideas for topics that Pat could ask the members, please let her know.If you are involved with any Corvette events that we do not participate in as a club, like a driving school, please share your experience with the club members. We all enjoyed both Daryl and Fred’s articles relatinghow much they learned about driving Corvettes and having fun while doing it at the driving schools they attended. You can send an article to Fred at fred@smithshome.com for publication.Remember that the theme for my presidency is “Without “u” there is no club”. I encourage you to make yourpresence in the club an active one by contributing in whatever areas you can to the club’s continued success.Your first opportunity to support CCSB in 2012 is by attending the General Meeting on Tuesday, January 3 at6:30 PM at Mesa Café and Bar. The food is great and we look forward to seeing you there. The second opportunity in January is the run to Flatbread Pizza on Saturday, January 14 led by Fred Lopez.See article in this newsletter for details.Membership ColumnPat BloomMEMBERSHIP: Our membership stands at 88 members and 73 Corvettes.Member Highlights:Lynn and Dennis Merenbach: Well, my darling callie calico 2 year old cat was ourscrooge. We put up lights on our tree. She took them down. I put some ornaments upand she climbed the tree and took them down to play with. So this year our tree nevergot decorated. The highlight was our nephew Brett came home after Bootcamp from theNavy for the week of Christmas to be with his family. He returned to Washington, D.C.to be with the Honor Guard for Fallen Solders for 2 years.Pat Bloom: My Northern California son and family couldn't make it for Christmas this year so I joined themfor an early celebration. My daughter and husband flew down from Washington for a week and we had agreat time with her Santa Barbara brother and family. We also visited a couple of animal shelters and I nowhave a 13 lb bundle of joy named Toby to keep my life jumping. He's a very loveable fox terrier but in need ofa lot of training! My work is cut out for me.
