A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer atRegular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions andCombined Driving Competitions upon payment of a 45 Show Pass fee. FEED AND BEDDING: Feed and bedding will be availablefrom Michael Teske. Exhibitors wishing to have beddingdelivered prior to their arrival should complete the order formand mail it to Michael Teske or call: 315-374-1590license may operate the above described motorized vehicles aslong as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’slicense. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual whosigns the entry form as a parent or guardian of a minoroperating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule aresolely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actionsresulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will because for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/ortrainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing theoffense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child,parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competitiongrounds for the remainder of the competition and chargesbeing filed against any of the above individuals in accordancewith Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistancedevices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from thisrule.” USEF GR 1301.7FIRE AND SAFETY REGULATIONS: NO smoking inthe barns or in the Coliseum per NYS Fairgrounds rules.Fireproof material must be used for all stall decorations. Thecenter aisle of the barns must remain clear. Tack stalldecorations must not extend more than 18” into the centeraisle. Drapes may not be placed across aisles. Beddingmaterial and the like is not permitted on the floor or any aisle.HEADGEAR: Riders must wear ASTM/SEI approvedheadgear with properly fitting harness in the following:1.2.3.4.5.When jumping anywhere on the show groundsHunter Seat Equitation classesDressage riders when warming up for and riding inDressage classes (exception: WesternDressage). See USEF MO191.13.a.4 and DR120.6.Leadline riders at all times when mounted.Protective headgear is acceptable in any otherdivision or class without penalty by the judge. SeeUSEF GR801.GENERAL STATEMENTS:With the exception of the Arena Driving Trials, everyclass offered herein which is covered by the rules andspecifications of the current USEF Rulebook will beconducted and judged in accordance therewith.The NYSMHS, the Show Committee, and their agents andemployees will not be responsible for any accident which mayoccur to any rider, driver, groom or attendant, spectator,animal, or equipment at any NYSMHS sponsored show. Norwill the NYSMHS, the Show Committee, their agents andemployees be held responsible for loss or destruction of anyproperty or equipment or damages to or by animals on theshow grounds.SHARPS: Exhibitors’ attention is directed to USEF Rulespertaining to Drugs and Medications. Exhibitors mustdispose of sharps in containers provided throughout thestabling area.USEF RULES FORUM: AMHA will conduct a Rules Forumin the coliseum at the conclusion of the In Hand classes onWednesday morning.Management reserves the right to cancel, combine, ordivide any class where it is deemed advisable and toreschedule any divided class. There will be two sets ofribbons in all divided classes.ARENAS AND FOOTING: Coliseum: 90’ x 220’, Warm-upArena ring 85’ x 190’. Both rings have Travel Right footing.4H Dressage Arena: 110’ x 221’ stone dust and sand mix.Exercise Arena behind main barn: 80’x 165’ stone dust.The coliseum will be open for schooling on Tuesday.While classes are in session in the coliseum, only those horsesshowing in the next class will be allowed in the warm uparena.PARKING: Horse trailers must be parked in the lot betweenthe race track and midway. Cars must park in designatedareas. There will be no loading or unloading between the barnswhile the show is in session. This will be strictly enforced.BICYCLING AND ROLLERBLADING INSIDE ANYBUILDING IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED.CAMPERS: A limited number of water and electrical hookups are available. Camper pumping will be available twiceduring the week. A ticket for pumping must be purchased inthe office; cash only.BOX SEATS: Box seats consist of 6 chairs. Those needingmore than 6 chairs should purchase an additional box.GOLF CARTS: Golf Cart rental is available. Pre-Order form(found in this book) must be completed and sent to the ShowSecretary. Drivers are subject to USEF GR 901.29. “Minorswho do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them tooperate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they residewill not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of anykind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles,scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition groundsof licensed competitions. Open tohorses 4 yrs. old and over who have maintained their Futurityeligibility through their 3 yr. old year, owned by a currentNYSMHS member.Entry Fee 30Owners of entries in all Futurity and Futurity Alumni classesmust be members of the New York Morgan Horse Society. Allfoals must be products of stallions and mares nominatedbefore July 15th of the weanling year. A three judge,MOS system will be used to judge each class with a call judgeresponsible for breaking ties. For the class, entries may enterthe ring from either gate and will proceed to the in-gate end ofthe ring to show before the judges according to the call judge’sinstructions. The entry will then leave the ring by either gate.After all entries have been individually judged, the judges’cards will be tabulated and the Top 10 will then be called backto the ring to show concurrently, according to the call judge’sinstructions. The class will be pinned in reverse order. Uponexiting the class the Champion, Reserve Champion and oneother randomly selected Top 10 entry will have hair pulled forDNA testing.NYSMHS FUTURITYSTONELEIGH BREEDER’S CUPThe Breeder’s Cup will be awarded to the breederaccumulating the most points in the NYSMHS Futurity InHand classes. The point schedule will be the same as outlinedin the Futurity program.FUTURITY PERFORMANCE SECTIONHorses entered, shown, and judged in these classes arequalified for their respective championship classes.39. 100 NY Futurity Pleasure Driving 2 yr. old (Wed)To be entered, the horse must be an eligible 2-Year OldFuturity horse with all fees paid. May be shown Park orPleasure to an appropriate vehicle.4 Year Olds – Horses eligible for these classes will be any 4year old offspring of the stallions whose services wereauctioned at the 2013 NYSMHS Stallion Service Auctionprovided the service received a qualified PAID bid plus the2014 offspring of the Name Your Mare lots. Classes will bejudged as Championships. A three judge, MOS system will beused to judge each class with a call judge responsible forbreaking ties. Class 145. NYSMHS SSA Sweepstakes Hunter/WesternPleasure Saddle (Fri)Hunter and Western divisions to be shown separately on therail. The Hunter division will show first followed by theWestern division. Entries shall be shown at the walk, pleasuretrot or jog, and canter or lope. Extension at any gait will be atthe call judge’s discretion. Rail work to be judged onperformance, presence, quality and manners. Upon completionof rail work all entries shall be lined up and stripped for typeand conformation inspection. Upon tabulation of the judges’cards, the class shall be pinned in reverse order ending withthe Champion.SPECIALTY IN HAND SECTIONEntry Fee: 30To be shown with tack and attire traditional to the sectionrepresented. The handler should dress in proper show ringattire. Western and Hunter are traditionally shown with onehandler. Classic may have one or two amateur handlers. To bejudged in accordance with AMHA Judging Standards for theOpen Morgan In-Hand Section. No cross entries from OpenIn-Hand Section permitted. There is only one standard typeand conformation of the Morgan horse. Horses shall be judgedagainst the criteria stated in MO 102 (USEF 2018 Rule Book)22. Hunter In Hand (Wed)Class 146.
