Avoid contact with oven surfaces, includingoven door, during and after use, as they willbe hot. Use well away from walls and curtains. Thermostat lightLight on indicates that the oven is heating.When the set temperature is reached, thelight will switch off. Using your Mini Bake & GrillPosition the oven on a dry, level surface,ensuring that the ventilation slots on the sideand top of the appliance are not obstructed.Plug the power cord into a 230-240 voltpower outlet and turn the power on.Note: When turned on for the first time,your Bake & Grill may give off vapours forup to 10 minutes. This is due to the initialheating of the materials used. It is safe, notdetrimental to the performance of the ovenand will not reoccur.Important: Do not force open the oven doorbeyond its limit or let the door drop open asthis will distort the doors ability to maintain aproper seal.To bake or roastThe top two and bottom two elements willheat when the temperature between 60 C 210 C has been selected.1. Place the wire rack, in either the raisedor sunken position, into the desired racksupport guide.2. Place the food to be baked on the wirerack, using the appropriate pan, tray etc.3. Turn the oven setting clockwise to desiredtemperature.Note: For best results, allow the oven topreheat for 5 -10 minutes or as per recipeinstructions.Important: If baking cakes, biscuits etc,using recipes other than those provided withthis instruction booklet, it is recommendedthat oven temperatures be reduced byapproximately 20-30 C. The recipes in theback of this book have already been adjusted.5. To turn the oven on, turn the timercontrol to the desired time. Alternatively,for continuous operation, turn the timercontrol to the ON position.6. When finished baking, the oven will switchoff automatically and a bell will sound ifthe timer was selected. Alternatively, turnthe timer control to OFF position if thecontinuous mode was selected.To grillThe top two elements will heat when the'Grill' setting has been selected.1. Place the wire rack, into the highest racksupport guide.2. Position the food on the baking tray. Placethe baking tray on the wire rack.3. Turn the oven setting clockwise to ‘Grill’.Note: For best results, allow the oven topreheat for 5 -10 minutes or as per recipeinstructions.5. To turn the grill on, turn the timer controlto the desired time. Alternatively, forcontinuous operation, turn the timercontrol to the ON position.6. When finished grilling, the oven will switchoff automatically and a bell will sound ifthe timer was selected. Grilling GuidePreheat compact oven to maximum heat for 5 minutes. Place rack in thetop shelf in the raised position. Cut capsicum in half and remove seedsand membrane. Spray with vegetable oilspray. Bake for 30 minutes or until skin blackensand blisters. Remove from compact oven, and cover withplastic until cool enough to handle Peel off skin and cut into strips.Caramelised Onion Preheat compact oven to 210 C. Placerack in top shelf in the sunken position. Line baking pan with aluminium foil; spraywith vegetable oil spray. Peel and thinly slice one large onion (red ispreferable). Mix through 1 tablespoon of olive oil andspread over baking tray. Bake 30 - 40 minutes, turning tray halfway or until onion is soft and browned.Roasted Sweet Potato or Potatoes Preheat compact oven to 180 C. Placerack in the top shelf in the sunkenposition. Grease baking tray with vegetable oil spray. Peel and chop sweet potato or potato into1-2 cm pieces, place on baking tray andspray generously with vegetable cookingspray. Season with sea salt and freshlyground black pepper. Bake for 30 minutes or until potato iscooked.Note: If a cooking spray is not available,lightly apply oil using a brush.7

Care and Cleaning Always turn the power off and remove theplug from power outlet after use and beforecleaning. Allow the compact oven to coolbefore cleaning. It is recommended that you clean thecompact oven after each use to prevent abuild up of grease and to avoid unpleasantodours.Note: Do not clean any part of the compactoven in the dishwasher. The wire rack, baking pan and crumb tray,may be washed in warm soapy water andrinsed.8Note: Never immerse the compact ovenin water. The interior walls and ceiling of thecompact oven can be wiped with a milddetergent and a damp cloth. To clean the exterior of the compact oven,wipe the walls with a cloth dampened withmild detergent. Polish with a soft dry cloth. To clean the glass door, wipe with a dampsponge and dry.

Cut wings at joints and discard tips.2. Remove stalks from mushrooms.3. Combine remaining ingredients in a jug.3. Cook the bacon in a small frying pan untilcrisp; drain on absorbent paper.4. Recipes continuedSupreme PizzaMakes 2 pizzas2 individual sized pizza bases¹ ³ cup pizza sauce or tomato paste1 small onion, chopped finely½ small green capsicum, chopped finely1 stick cabanossi, sliced2 button mushrooms, sliced50g diced ham2 tablespoons sliced olives, optional1 cup pizza cheese (blend of tasty andmozzarella)1. Preheat compact oven to 210 C. Placewire rack in the bottom shelf in the raisedposition.2. Spread pizza sauce over bases. Arrangeremaining ingredients except cheese overthe sauce. Top with cheese. Bake pizza,one at a time, for about 15-20 minutes orgolden.Gourmet PizzaMakes 22 individual sized pizza bases¼ cup ready made pesto sauce1 roasted red capsicum, sliced (see page 7)1 caramelised onion (see page 7)3 slices pancetta, torn80g goat’s cheese, crumbledsmall handful baby rocket1. Preheat compact oven to 210 C. Placewire rack in the bottom shelf in the raisedposition.2. Spread pesto sauce over bases. Arrangeremaining ingredients, except cheese androcket, over the sauce. Top with cheese.Bake pizza, one at a time, for about 15-20minutes or golden.3. Serve with rocket on top and drizzle with alittle extra virgin olive oil.10Lamb Rack with Garlicand Parmesan CrustServes 22 x 200g lamb rack roast, French trimmed3 slices day old bread, crust removed androughly chopped1 clove garlic, chopped1 tablespoon grated fresh parmesan2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary1 tablespoon seeded mustardOlive oil spray1. Preheat compact oven on 180 C for 10minutes. Place wire rack on the bottomshelf in the raised position.2. Place lamb racks on the baking tray, havingthe bones interlocked in the middle.3. Combine bread, garlic, parmesan androsemary in a food processor. Process untilmixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.4. Spread mustard evenly over the outside ofthe cutlet base.5. Press the bread mixture over the mustardand spray well with olive oil spray.6. Place lamb racks in oven and bake30 - 35 minutes or until cooked asdesired. Remove from oven and coverwith foil. Allow to rest 10-15 minutes.7. Cut lamb into individual cutlets and servewith hot roasted potatoes.

Recipes continuedMarinated Lamb RoastServes 2-3Roast Chicken with Stuffing1 tablespoon olive oil1.4kg whole fresh chicken1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemarysea salt2 cloves garlic, crushedfreshly ground black pepper1 teaspoon grated lemon rindStuffing2 tablespoons lemon juice1 small onion, chopped finely2 teaspoons Dijon mustard2 teaspoons olive oil¼ cup mango chutney2 cups fresh bread crumbs2 x 300g mini roast lamb rumps30g softened butter1. Combine oil, rosemary, garlic, rind, juice,mustard and chutney in a large zip lockbag or large dish.1 teaspoon grated lemon rind2. Place lamb in marinade; cover andrefrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.3. Preheat oven to 210 C. Place wire rack onthe bottom shelf in the raised position.4. Drain marinade from lamb; reservemarinade. Place lamb on the baking panand place in compact oven. Cook for aboutapproximately 30 minutes for medium and35-40 minutes for well done, brushingoccasionally with reserved marinade.5. Stand lamb, covered, for 10 minutesbefore carving. Serve lamb with steamedvegetables.Serves 42 tablespoons chopped fresh sage1. Preheat oven to 210 C. Place wire rack onthe bottom shelf in the sunken position.2. Wash and clean chicken thoroughly.Pat dry with paper towelling.3. To make stuffing, cook onion in oil untilsoftened. Add to remaining stuffingingredients and mix well.4. Place the stuffing inside the cavity of thechicken. Tuck the wings back and tie thebase of the chicken with cooking stringso that the legs are crossed and securelypositioned.5. Brush the chicken with oil and season withsalt and pepper.6. Place the chicken onto the baking tray.Reduce heat to 180 c and cook forapproximately 1 hour and 15 minutes oruntil cooked.Note: To check the chicken to see if it hascooked thoroughly, insert a skewer into thethigh. Preheat oven to 210 C. Place wire rack inthe bottom shelf in the raised position.4. Cut pumpkin into wedges leaving the skinon. Cut onions into quarters. Cut carrotinto 4 pieces lengthways.5. Place vegetables into the baking pan,season with salt and pepper and drizzlewith butter.6. Reduce temperature to 180 C and bake forapproximately 40 minutes or until bakedand crisp.½ cup grated tasty cheese1. Preheat compact oven to 210 C. Placewire rack on the lower shelf in the sunkenposition.2. Grease and line base of a 19cm squareshallow cake tin.3. Peel the sweet potato and slice thinly.4. Place a layer of sweet potato then rocketthen fetta into the cake tin and then repeatlayers again. Reserve a few sweet potatoslices if possible for the top.5. Combine the eggs, cream, salt and pepperin a bowl; whisk together. Pour egg mixtureinto the cake tin and top with the gratedcheese.6. Place frittata into oven, reduce heat to180 C and cook for about 30-35 minutesor until cooked through. If the frittatastarts to brown too much before theinside is completely cooked lay a piece offoil over the top, this will stop excessivebrowning.12

Recipes continuedDESSERTSGlazed Orange Poppy Seed CakeServes 8125g butter, softened¾ cup caster sugar1 tablespoon finely grated orange rind2 eggs1 cup self raising flour¹ ³ cup milk1 teaspoon vanilla extract¼ cup poppy seedsGlaze2 teaspoons orange zest½ cup orange juice½ cup caster sugar1. Preheat oven to 150 C. Place wire rack onthe bottom shelf in the sunken position.2. Grease and line base of a 20cm cake tin.3. Using an electric mixer, cream butter,sugar and rind until light and fluffy.4. Add eggs one at a time, beating wellbetween each addition.5. Add flour and milk in two batches and mixuntil just combined. Fold through poppyseeds.6. Place mixture into prepared tin and cook inoven for about 50 minutes or until cookedwhen tested with a skewer. If cake startsto brown too much before the inside iscompletely cooked, lay a piece of foil overthe top of the cake, this will stop excessivebrowning.7. Meanwhile combine the zest, orange juiceand sugar in a small saucepan. Stir overa low heat until the sugar has dissolved;bring to the boil, simmer for 2 minutes.8. Turn cake out onto a cooling tray with abaking tray underneath. Using a woodenskewer, poke several holes into the cakethen pour the hot syrup over the hot cake.Lemon SconesMakes about 153 cups self raising flour1 tablespoon finely grated lemon rind1 teaspoon icing sugar mixture60g butter420ml buttermilk1. Preheat oven to 210 C. Place wire rack onthe bottom shelf in the raised position.2. Combine the flour, lemon rind, icing sugarmixture and butter in a food processor untilthe mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.Transfer to a large bowl.3. Add the buttermilk and mix until justcombined.4. Turn dough onto a floured surface andlightly knead until smooth.5. Press dough out to about a 3cm thickness.Using a 5cm pastry cutter cut into rounds.Place rounds onto tray and bake in oven forabout 15 minutes or cooked.6. Serve with lemon curd and whipped cream.Tip: If the tops start to brown before themiddle is properly cooked lay a piece of foilover the tops of the scones, this will preventexcess browning.13

Recipes continuedChocolate Chip CookiesMakes about 30Chocolate Chunk Muffins125g butter, softened1 cup self raising flour½ cup firmly packed soft brown sugar¼ cup plain flour½ cup caster sugar¼ cup cocoa powder1 teaspoon vanilla extract½ cup chocolate chips1 egg½ cup firmly packed brown sugar1 ¾ cup self raising flour1 egg, lightly beaten1 cup choc chips¾ cup milk1. Preheat compact oven to 180 C. Place wirerack on the bottom shelf in raised position.Line tray with baking paper.½ cup vegetable oil2. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla with anelectric mixer until light and creamy.3. Add egg and mix and well combined. Addflour and mix well.4. Fold through chocolate chips. Rolltablespoon amounts into balls and placeonto tray; press lightly with the back ofa fork. Ensure that the cookies are wellspaced to allow for spreading.5. Bake in oven for about 10 minutes or untilgolden. Do not overcook. Transfer cookiesto wire racks to cool; repeat with remainingcookie dough.14Makes 61. Preheat compact oven to 180 C. Placewire rack on the bottom shelf in the raisedposition. Grease a six hole, ¹ ³ cup capacitymuffin tray.2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowluntil just mixed. Divide mix into muffinholes.3. Bake in oven for about 16 minutes or untilcooked when tested. Cool on a wire rack.
