Dragon GuideSetting up Dragon1. Log into PowerChart with Dragon.2. The first time a provider logs into Dragon they will get the screen below. The User defaults to theprovider’s sign on. Dragon Guide4. You are logged into Dragon when the Dragon menu bar appears. Adjust one of the microphone settings beforeusing. Click on the Dragon Icon (flame), and then select Options.5. Select Microphone buttons.6. Click the Microphone On/Off drop down on the right and select Press and hold. This will enable the functionalityof pressing the red record button to record and releasing the button to stop recording. This only has to beset one time.7. Click OK.8. Dragon GuideRecording Documentation for a Note1. From the Workflow MPage, click in the section where you will be recording your note, i.e. Review ofSystems.2. Hold down the record button (large red button in the center of the microphone) and dictate your note.The microphone icon on the Dragon toolbar will turn green while recording.3. Release the button to stop recording. The dictation will appear in the note.If your cursor is not in the active box where you want to dictate, your text will appear in the Dragon Dictation box. Tomove to the correct location, click in the note area where you want the text to populate and press the Transfer Textbutton. You must stay logged into PowerChart in order to keep Dragon open.Dragon will auto close when you log out of PowerChart.Creating a Dragon Auto TextDragon voice commands can be used to insert Auto Text in a Dynamic Document.1. Highlight desired text in Cerner or Speak “Select All.”2. Speak “Create Auto Text” with the Dragon microphone. The Manage Auto Texts box displays with theselected text in the Content.3. Select “Enter the word as you would pronounce it”4. Enter the correct spelling for the word (written form).5. Enter the pronunciation (spoken form) of the word. You may spell it out phonetically.Example:a. Written form: Dr. Freib. Spoken form: doctor fry6. Click Save.7. Troubleshooting TipsDragon Guide If the end user is having difficulty connecting to Dragon, ensure they are selecting the correct icon. If Dragon Direct is not responding or working correctly, you can reset and log back in. At the very bottom of yourscreen, you will a small black receiver icon.1. Click on the icon. Click Exit to close.2. If you are still having issues and have requested assistance from I.S., you will need to get your Citrix session.a. Click the Receiver icon and select About.b.
