This ensures that the specific power is always within theoptimal range. SM series units use a flexible V-belt drive system to precisely determineairend speed dependent upon the airend being used. Low airend speed also meansthat components are subjected to less wear and consequently last longer, whilst noiseemissions are also significantly reduced in comparison with high speed airends. This isparticularly important for compressors installed directly in work environments.

The dryer shutdown feature – which is linked to compressoroperation – can also be selected via the compressorcontroller to further reduce energy consumption.All maintenance work can be carried outfrom one side of the unit. The left housingcover is easily removed to allow excellentcomponent accessibility. Furthermore,there’s no need to remove the housingcover to inspect fluid levels or drive belttension, as these can be checked via aconvenient inspection window. ‘T’ versionsare also equipped with a service openingfor the test button on the refrigerationdryer’s electronic condensate drain.Variable speed controlalso availableEMC tested and certifiedElectromagnetic compatibility (EMC) isparticularly important for compressorsin order to ensure optimum systemperformance. The system uses separateflow paths for the compression air and for the motor and fluid cooling air toguarantee sufficient reserves even at high ambient temperatures of up to 45 C.Compression efficiency and motor cooling are enhanced by drawing in the airfor motor cooling and compression from the ambient surroundings. Furthermore,sound levels are exceptionally low as the air flows through the cooling systemat low speed. This system also significantly contributes to the effectiveness andreliability of refrigeration dryers in T-version packages.Energy costs account for over 70 percentof total compressed air costs. This cantherefore amount to a significant sumeven for smaller compressed air systems,which is why KAESER uses the verylatest technology to ensure that everycompressor provides best possibleenergy efficiency. These compressorsform the basis for reliable and costeffective compressed air production aspart of a correctly planned and integratedcompressed air supply system.Tailored controlDeveloped in close co-operation with Siemens, the SIGMA CONTROL BASICmulti-function controller provides all the advantages of modern compressorcontrol technology without the additional costs associated with PC-basedcontrol systems. Using the proven ‘Dual’ and ‘Quadro’ control modes, thisadvanced control system will communicate with – and constantly monitor –the compressor package. If necessary, system messages can be definedas alarms and, with the addition of an optional memory module, can beforwarded to a master control system.
