WARRANTYSTEMCO HUBODOMETER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSAll merchandise ordered shall be sold subject to Stemco’s standard warranty, viz: SELLERwarrants that if any product of its manufacture upon examination is found by a SELLERrepresentative to be defective in either workmanship or material under normal use and services,SELLER, at its option, will repair or replace same free of charge including transportation chargesbut not cost of installation or removal or will refund purchase price thereof. In no event shallSELLER be liable for any claim, whether arising from breach of contract or warranty or claims ofnegligence or negligent manufacture, in excess of the purchase price. ALL OTHERWARRANTIES EXPRESSED AND IMPLIED INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OFMERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR USE ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED. Theforegoing expresses all of the SELLER’S obligations and liabilities with respect to the quality ofitems furnished by it and it shall under no circumstances be liable for consequential, collateral orspecial losses or damages.1.Mount Hubodometer to face of hub cap or bracket.2.Use washer under locknut.3.Use 15-ft lbs. of torque to tighten locknut.DO NOT USE AIR IMPACT WRENCH.All Hubodometers manufactured during or after October,1993 are warranted for 500,000 miles or 800,000 kilometers.DO NOT EXCEED 15-ft. lbs. OF TORQUE.All Hubodometers manufactured before October, 1993 are warranted for 300,000 miles or 500,000kilometers.Before submitting Hubodometers for warranty consideration, please review the following list of conditionsthat nullify the Stemco warranty.1. Stripped threads on stud.2. Bent stud.4.If necessary, use strap wrench to hold Hubodometer whiletightening.5.DO NOT USE PAINTS, SOLVENTS OR THINNERS ON THEHUBODOMETER FACE, GRILAMID HUB CAP OR HUBODOMETER HUB CAP WINDOW.3. Back of Hubodometer pulled out from over-torquing.4. Back caved in.The recommended torque for the 3/8" pipe plug for aluminumhub caps is 9 ft.-lbs. A suitable sealant may be used on thepipe plug threads if desired. On Grilamid hub caps with plasticfill plug and o-ring, tighten to torque not to exceed 10 ft.-lbs.5. Use of unauthorized bracket or improperly assembled bracket.6. Side ring dented, bent, nicked or tampered with.7. Polycarbonate front cover cracked, dented or abused.8. Use of paints, solvents or thinner on the polycarbonate face.9. Face plate caved in on the inside from a hard blow.10. Hubodometers manufactured before October, 1993 with more than 300,000 milesor 500,000 kilometers.The proper oil level for the Stemco Hubodometer window is indicated bythe inside protruding ledge of the window. Stemco Hubodometers are specifically engineered andcalibrated at the mid-tread life of the tire to assure mileage accuracy within 2%.To identify the correct Hubodometer for your particular tire, match the manufacturer, modeland size identified on the tire sidewall to the corresponding information as listed in theguide. Select the calibration designation as it appears. For example: the Armstrong STR20011R22.5 (p. 3) uses the Hubodometer numbers 650-0601 (miles) or 650-0539 (km).The designations in this guide relate solely to Hubodometer calibration and do not imply traction,performance or mileage expectations of any tire.
