Large and fullformed for the cross, the flowers are brilliant, bright purplewith heavy substance. This plant is a phenomenal breeder of purpleflowers and has produced 10 awarded progeny for us plus two AQs.Natural Spread 6.5 cm. Old spikes will rebloom. Only one bloomingsize plant. 200Phal. An Tai Spot ‘Splotchy #2’ AM/AOS(Paifang’s Queen x John Ewing) We received an Award of Qualityon this cross and all the awarded cultivars are robust growingplants that will keiki at their bases making great specimen plants.In addition, the flowers have a wonderful sweet fragrance and lasta long time. When the cross received the AQ, the flowers of thisplant were the judge’s favorite. Natural Spread 6.0 cm. Only oneblooming size plant. 100Phal. bellina v. Murtoniana ‘Leprechaun’ AM/CBR/CCM/AOS(Species) Note that we are not taxonomists and are relying on thetaxonomic work previously performed and required to receive anAOS award. This is the rare murtoniana form of the species. Thisspecies is now classified as Phal. bellina, but was awarded as Phal.violacea. Phal. Ching Her Champion ‘Phoenix Sunspots’ HCC/AOS(Salu Peoker x Champion Plus) Awarded 75 points on 5/16/16 with 9flowers on one spike and is the only awarded cultivar of the cross.Natural spread 7.4cm. Only one blooming size plant. First release. 50Phal. Coral Isles ‘Lung Ching’ AM/AOS(Princess Kaiulani x lueddemanniana) This is one of only twoawarded cultivars and in our opinion is the best. When awarded ithad 12 flowers and 8 buds on three spikes with a new spikeemerging. Fragrant. Natural Spread 6.0 cm. Only one blooming sizeplant. Price reduced – was 200, now 150.Phal. Corningiana ‘Carol’ HCC/AOS(species) A very good example of the species. When awarded thisplant had 18 flowers and 5 buds on 4 spikes. Natural spread(vertical) 6.0. Blooming size. Price reduced – was 150, now 100.Phal. Dotty Woodson ‘Claudette’ HCC/AOS(Tabasco Tex x George Vasquez) This is one of only two awardedcultivars and in our opinion it’s the better of the two. Whenawarded it had 6 flowers and 5 buds on two spikes. It has bred oneawarded progeny for us and we are continuing to use it in ourbreeding program. Old spikes will rebloom. Fragrant. Phal. Double Garnet ‘Ruby Glow’(Zuma Garnet x Straits Garnet) A very flat, solid red flower. Thecolor on the back of the flower is the same as the red on the front.First release. 75Phal. Harford's Gem 'Amber Fire' HCC/AOS(amboinensis x Annapolis) The flowers of this plant are very unusualin that the red patterning on each flower is slightly different (asshown in the photo). When awarded it had 9 flowers and 3 buds, somakes a nice display. Natural Spread 5.0 cm. Old spikes willrebloom. Fragrant. Only one blooming size plant. 150Phal. I-Hsin George ‘JH’(Penang Girl x George Vasquez) A very colorful flower that we areusing in our breeding program. Only one plant. Price reduced – was 125, now 75.Phal. I-Hsin Sunflower ‘M’ AM/AOS(Taipei Gold x brother Nugget) A fantastic yellow that hasproduced 2 awarded progeny for us. Phal.Jacque Hodges ‘red Sun’ HCC/AOS(Venimp x Joy Spring Canary) A very nice red/fuschia flower withpleasant fragrance. At this time, this is the only awarded progenyof Joy Spring Canary and we are using it in our breeding program.Natural spread 5.9cm. Only one plant. First release. 200Phal. Jimbo ‘JL#1’(gersenii x venosa) A beautiful and interesting recently namedprimary hybrid. Under our conditions, this plant forms basal keikis,so has the potential to become a striking specimen plant. Pricereduced – was 175 now 75Phal. John Ewing ‘KFO’ CCM/AOS(George Vasquez x venosa) A fine form of the cross and a vigorousgrower. When awarded this plant had 15 flowers and 7 buds on 11branched spikes. It tends to produce basal keikis and can be growinto a beautiful specimen plant. Fragrant. Natural spread 5.2 cm.Only one blooming size plant. Price reduced – was 150, now 100.Phal. Malibu Imp ‘Anna Mae’ AM/AOS(amboinensis x Luedde-Violacea) This is an old and hard to findcultivar of a cross that has been used to breed some great crosses.We’ve used this plant in our breeding program over a period ofmany years and it has produced awarded progeny for us. The color,even by today’s standards, is excellent. Natural spread 5.0 cm. Onlyone keiki. 150Phal. Okay Petit Hot ‘Phoenix Beauty’(venosa x Dotty Woodson) This is our favorite cultivar from ourremake of the cross. The plant grows well and the flowers are veryflat and fragrant. 175Phal. Okay Petit Hot ‘Phoenix Orange’(venosa x Dotty Woodson) This is a very unusual color form fromour remake of the cross. The flowers are a remarkably brightorange. The plant grows well and the flowers fragrant. Only oneplant. 125Phal. Olatt ‘Diane’ AM/AOS(Coral Isles x Tigerette) Originally awarded in 1982, this hasbecome a hard to find plant. Phal. Penang Girl ‘Taipei’(violacea x venosa) A really fine form of this primary hybrid. Oldspikes will rebloom. Fragrant. Blooming size. Price reduced – was 175, now 150Phal. Phal. Phoenix Cardinal ‘Ruby’ AM/AOS(An Tai Spot x Brother Purple) Awarded 80 points on 5/16/16 with10 flowers on two arching spikes. We believe this plant is atetraploid. Natural spread 6.4 cm. Blooming size. First release. 75Phal. Phoenix Gem ‘Bold Beauty’(Dotty Woodson x Penang Girl) This is one of our favorites fromthe cross. The flowers have unusual coloration and are fragrant. 175Phal. Phoenix Imp ‘Trinity’ AM/AOS(Venimp x Penang Girl) This is our favorite cultivar from our crossand it received an 80 point AM/AOS on 3/5/16 in Tucson, AZ. Thisplant represents a new type of breeding that I call multifloralnovelty. The goal in this type of breeding is to produce brightlycolored, fragrant novelties that will carry 20 or more flowers/budson a fully mature plant. Phal. Sogo Kaiulani ‘Joy’(Princess Kaiulani x Yungho Princess Gelb)A fine form of the cross that is proving to be an important breederof reds. Only one blooming size plant. Price reduced – was 150,now 125.Phal. Sogo Lawrence ‘F1982’ AM/AOS(Brother Peterstar x Brother Sara Gold) This is a wonderful,colorful flower that is the most recently awarded cultivar of thecross. We got it awarded in 2012 with 34 flowers and 1 bud on twobranched spikes. We are using it in our breeding program withexcellent results. Natural spread 5.6 cm. Blooming size, but limited. 75Dtps. Sogo Manager ‘Neo’ HCC/AOS(Phal. Brother Lawrence x Dtps. Autumn Sun) This plant put out agreat display and took Best Phal. In Show at the Desert ValleyOrchid Society Show in both 2006 and 2007.
