In the beginning, God createdthe heavens and the earth.Darkness was over the surface of theocean. The earth didn't have anyshape. At that time, the ocean covered theearth. And it was empty. The Spirit of God was hovering over thewaters.

God said, "Let there belight."And there was light.God saw that the light wasgood.

He separated the light fromthe darkness.God called the light "day."He called the darkness"night."There was evening, andthere was morning. It was day one.

God said, "Let there be a hugespace between the waters.Let it separate water fromwater."And that's exactly whathappened.God made the huge spacebetween the waters. He separated the water thatwas under the space from thewater that was above it.

God called the huge space"sky."There was evening, and therewas morning. It was day two.

God said, "Let the waterunder the sky be gatheredinto one place.Let dry ground appear."And that's exactly whathappened.God called the dry ground"land."He called the waters thatwere gathered together"oceans."

And God saw that it wasgood. Then God said, "Let the landproduce plants.Let them bear their ownseeds.

The land produced plants. And let there be trees on theland that bear fruit withseeds in it.Each kind of plant had itsown kind of seeds.Let each kind of plant or treehave its own kind of seeds."The land produced treesthat bore fruit with seedsin it.And that's exactly whathappened. Each kind of tree had itsown kind of seeds.

God saw that it was good. And there was evening, andthere was morning. It was day three.

God said, "Let there be lightsin the huge space of the sky.Let them separate the dayfrom the night.Let them serve as lights inthe huge space of the sky togive light on the earth."Let them serve as signs tomark off the seasons and thedays and the years. And that's exactly whathappened.

God made two great lights. He made the larger light torule over the day.He made the smaller light torule over the night. He also made the stars.God put the lights in thehuge space of the sky togive light on the earth. He put them there to ruleover the day and the night. He put them there toseparate light fromdarkness.

God saw that it was good. And there was evening, andthere was morning. It was day four.

God said, "Let the waters befilled with living things.Let birds fly above the earthacross the huge space of thesky."

So God created the greatcreatures of the ocean. He created every living andmoving thing that fills thewaters. He created all kinds ofthem. He created every kind ofbird that flies.

He said, "Have little ones andincrease your numbers.Fill the water in the oceans. And God saw that it wasgood.Let there be more and morebirds on the earth."God blessed them. There was evening, and therewas morning.

It was day five.

God said, "Let the landproduce all kinds of livingcreatures.Let there be livestock, andcreatures that move along theground, and wild animals.Let there be all kinds ofthem."And that's exactly whathappened.

So God created man in hisown likeness. He created him in thelikeness of God.He created them as maleand female.God saw everything he hadmade. And it was very good. There was evening, andthere was morning.

By the seventh day God hadfinished the work he hadbeen doing. It was day six.So on the seventh day herested from all of his work.

First there was darkness andlight. Then there was water and sky.

Then there were dirt andtrees. Then there were was the sunand the moon.

Then God made fish & thebirds. Then God made the animalsof the ground.

Then last of all, best of all,God made me!Finally, God took a rest.

God made two great lights. He made the larger light to rule over the day. He made the smaller light to rule over the night. He also made the stars. God put the lights in the huge space of the sky to give light on the earth. He put them there to rule over the day and the night. He put them there to separate light from darkness.!
