These companiesmust also monitor and report on their discharges to PVSC on a monthly basis. Compliance violations occurwhen a company fails to file its monthly report on time or exceeds its permitted discharge limits. Each facility that goes a full calendar year without a single violation earns a PVSC Permit Compliance Award.Included among this year’s honorees is Sika Corporation of Lyndhurst, which has earned the award 21consecutive years. Darling International of Newark and Marcal Manufacturing of Elmwood Park have earnedthe award 16 and 15 consecutive years, respectively. Several companies have earned the award for a fulldecade or more.“As part of our ongoing mission of improving the environment in PVSC’s service area, the Commissioners andI are very pleased to honor 100-plus companies that have put forth the effort and commitment to meeting theirSewer Use Permit requirements,” said Executive Director Gregory Tramontozzi. “Compliance is not easy orinexpensive, but these businesses do it, year after year, because they’ve made a commitment to theircommunities to operate in an environmentally responsible way.”“I would equate this to a driver not exceeding the speed limit even once during an entire year,” added PVSCDirector of Inspection and Compliance Herbert Skinner. “In the case of most of these award winners, it’s likenot exceeding the speed limit for many years.”A complete list of the honorees follows on the next several pages.

reduction working well with transition metal catalyzed reactions makes it suitable for use in Mizoroki-Heck reactions. The Mizoroki-Heck reaction is a very popular palladium based cross-coupling reaction often used in medicinal chemistry.
