Nokia 7705 Service Aggregation RouterRelease 8.0The Nokia 7705 Service Aggregation Router (SAR) portfolio provides serviceadaptation, aggregation, and routing over an efficient, feature-rich Ethernetand IP/MPLS infrastructure. With interfaces supporting a wide range of accessprotocols, it is well suited for mobile backhaul, fixed-mobile convergence,mission-critical and enterprise applications.Leveraging the powerful Nokia Service RouterOperating System (SR OS) and the Nokia 5620Service Aware Manager (SAM), the 7705 SARdelivers industry-leading IP/MPLS and pseudowirecapabilities. It is available in compact, powerefficient, indoor and outdoor platforms thatsupport highly available services and applicationsover flexible network topologies.Unprecedented scalabilityThe 7705 SAR is distinguished by its IP and MPLSscale, giving network operators the greatestpotential to grow their networks, addingunprecedented numbers of end users andapplications, without having to make additionalcapital investment.Deployment flexibilityThe Nokia 7705 SAR portfolio is packaged in a widerange of form factors to accommodate the densityand types of services required at any location. It provides both indoor and outdoor mountingsolutions combined with extended temperaturerange and power-over-Ethernet (PoE) options.Fanless and conformal-coated variants allow the7705 SAR to be used in harsh environmentalconditions. The 7705 SAR portfolio accommodatesfiber, copper and microwave uplinks with support fora full range of interfaces to accelerate deploymentand reduce capital expense.17705 SAR-M7705 SAR-H7705 SAR-187705 SAR-87705 SAR-Hc7705 SAR-X7705 SAR-W7705 SAR-A7705 SAR-Ax7705 SAR-WxData SheetNokia 7705 Service Aggregation Router

Reliable service deliveryWide-ranging securitySR 0S software provides superior QoS on the7705 SAR. The same level of deep buffering andsupport for ingress and egress shaping that isavailable on Nokia’s edge and core routing platformsis also available on the 7705 SAR aggregationplatform. Consistency of traffic engineering andshaping across the network provides higher packetrouting performance overall with differentiatedservice treatment. This facilitates the convergenceof fixed and mobile traffic for service providersas well as operational and business services trafficfor mission-critical network operators. It allows foradvanced service offerings, and delivers efficientnetwork resource usage, customer satisfactionand retention. The 7705 SAR provides a robust set of securityfeatures to maintain network integrity in the faceof cyberattacks such as session hijacking, spoofing, and denial of service attacks. The 7705 SAR firewallis application-aware and mitigates attacks, suchas Domain Name System (DNS)/Internet ControlMessage Protocol (ICMP) replay. It uses applicationlevel gateways to ensure extra security for FTP/TFTP connections. 7705 SAR hardware-basedencryption features, including IPsec, NetworkGroup Encryption (NGE) and advanced key exchangealgorithms, prevent man-in-the-middle attacks. All 7705 SAR security features provide highthroughput levels while minimizing latency.Operators can use the 7705 SAR to safeguardcritical infrastructures and address regulatoryrequirements, such as North American ElectricReliability Corporation (NERC) Critical InfrastructureProtection Version 5 (CIP V5).The 7705 SAR provides excellent resiliency tolink or equipment failures through redundancyand the ability to quickly reroute traffic. The7705 SAR delivers network reconvergence in tensof milliseconds using a strong suite of dynamicrouting and recovery capabilities. Superior networkresiliency reduces network down time and improvesoperations staff’s productivity, helping to reduceoperating costs, improve end-user satisfaction, and allowing service providers to offer highervalue SLAs.Precise timing and synchronizationThe 7705 SAR provides microsecond timing andaccurate synchronization to support mobile basestation requirements and the migration of TDMbased services onto the packet network. Timingaccuracy and performance over packet are enabledwith a combination of built-in architectural features, integrated Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) receivers, Nokia Bell Labs algorithms, and powerful QoS mechanisms, which minimizethe delay and delay variation experienced bysynchronization traffic.2Software features7705 SAR models support, but are not limitedto, the following features:Services L2 virtual private network (VPN) services –virtual leased line (VLL) and virtual privateLAN service (VPLS) IP (VPN) services (IPv4 and IPv6) Internet Enhanced Service (IES) Circuit Emulation Services (CES)–– Structure Agnostic TDM over Packet(SAToP)–– Circuit Emulation Service over PacketSwitched Network (CESoPSN)–– Raw Socket IP transport for asynchronousRS232 serial data–– MEF 8Data SheetNokia 7705 Service Aggregation Router
