Long Island Sound CruiseThursday, August 5th from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PMAll Aboard!Take a staycation with friends and cruise around the Long Island Sound.The Heritage Center has reserved a private tour with the MaritimeAquarium. Revolutionary in design, this 64-foot all-aluminum catamaranwas launched in 2015 as the first research vessel in North America withhybrid-electric propulsion. She runs virtually silently on electric power.You are welcome to bring an out of town friend!Our reservation will be rescheduled if weather prevents the boatfrom launchingThere is minimal handicap accessibility aboard. The ramp to thevessel dock can have a 25% grade depending on the tides.Parking is available at the Maritime Center Parking garage or use streetparking. We will meet at 1:15 PM at 4 North Water Street (at thecorner of Washington Street) a short walk from the Aquarium's MainEntrance.Cost is 25 per person; please register and pay with Michelle Stillmanto hold your spot. We are considering making a restaurant reservation inthe Sono area. Please let us know if you’d be interested in getting lunchbeforehand and we will make plans accordingly.

Catfish, Local BandPlaying at Topstone Park, ReddingThursday, July 8th, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PMOur dear friend Garner Lester’s band, Catfish, will be entertaining atthe Summer Acoustic Music Series at Topstone. This is a free, familyevent, bring your own picnic. Catfish plays “Feel Good” music designedfor fun, happy times, and audience fit. They have a tight sound with calmvolume levels that playing as a trio provides. Original members Paul VanAcker, bass and Garner Lester, guitar are excited to have Joe Sullivan,an incredible rhythmical addition, join on drums and percussion. If theweather is not cooperative, the concert may be moved inside to theRedding Community Center or postponed; latest information will comefrom Redding Parks and Recreation.Opera Talk Returns!Tuesday, August 10th, 10:00 AM - 11:15 AMCome join Jean Schroeder as she prepares tore-launch her Opera Talk program.
