Better known as The Portland Masonic Temple, the building was erected in historic downtownPortland, Maine in 1911. The Portland Masonic is home to several active Masonic organizationsincluding Triangle Lodge - one of North America's oldest Masonic lodges, founded in 1762.Portland and the St. Alban's Commandery, and the Valley of Portland Scottish Rite.Some of Maine's famous Masons include Governors, Naval Commanders, Attorneys General,Supreme Court Justices, and International Diplomats. The Scottish Rite Reading Room is perfect for cocktail parties and predinner mingling surrounded by antique wood paneling and Masonic portraits.
