I worked at many ManitobaMarathons, canoe and snowshoe races, and floods.”As I interviewed Adam Romanchuk VE4SN in his veryneat hamshack, there was much to see: a progressionof equipment from then to now; photos of variousevents; interesting gifts and souvenirs from travel; andawards and certificates garnered through 60 years inamateur radio.“I made a phone patch for a clergyman in Bolivia tospeak with his sister in Winnipeg. They hadn’t spokenin 15 years. It lasted one hour! TheDOT examiner gave us 10 written questions; asked 5verbals. We had to demonstrate 10 wpm in CW. I gotmy ticket on April 25, 1956.”Did you build or buy equipment? “Following instructions in a book, I built my first transmitter with partsdonated by other hams and parts I bought, includingtwo 807 tubes.
