Cheered on by family and friends, andnearly 50 students from Edgeworth PS who made the trip down with Mrs Roweand Miss Kellert, the team played James Erskine PS in the semi-final. Edgeworthstarted brilliantly, scoring within the first minute with a well worked team try toJack, before Georgia scored a first half hat trick as Edgeworth took a 26-0 halftimelead. Edgeworth started to wrestle back the initiative, with Jack scoring just before halftime to lead 12-7at the break. However as the second half began, urged on by the cheering crowd, Edgeworthproduced their best rugby of the year! With Sam and Lauchlyn pulling the strings, Edgeworth wenton a scoring spree, completely dominating Harbord. A second try each to Daniel and Jack, before aquick double to Georgia, and a try to Kai, saw Edgeworth rack up a record final score of 45-12, totake out the championship! Congratulations to Georgia, who was selected as Player of the Final bythe NSW PSSA Rugby Union Convenor. As a team, the boys and girl have worked extremely hard to achieve this amazing feat, trainingstrongly and working well as a team. Over the course of the Knockout, they have had an averagewinning score of 53-5, showing how well they have performed. However these things do not happenwithout the support of some wonderful parents and family members, who have supported the teamthe whole way, including trips up and down the coast, so I would personally like to thank all of thoseparents and family members for their support of the kids.Minmi Road, Edgeworth NSW 2285 Phone: 4958 1831 Fax: 4950 8174 Webpage: http://www.edgeworthp.schools.nsw.edu.au Email: edgeworth-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

AttendanceOur Term 3 and 4 focus at Edgeworth Public School is ‘Attendance’. We are encouraging parents tospeak to students about being at school on time, before the bell and the importance of spending thewhole day at school. Some of our students regularly arrive up to and exceed 30 minutes late. The beginning of the day isthe most vital learning window. During the first 30 minutes of everyday teachers are teaching thehierarchy of reading. If your child regularly misses this important session there is a high likelihoodthat they will begin to fall behind.Did you know that if your child misses 10 minutes a day, that adds up to half a year of learning overtheir schooling years and if they miss 20 minutes a day they miss a whopping whole year in theirlearning?Your assistance in this matter is appreciated!NAPLANAll Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN results for 2016 were sent home last week with your child.
