Saint Andrew ParishNorth Billerica, MA* * * PA R I S H A N N O U N C E M E N T S * * *YOU ARE INVITED TO HOSTTHE ELIJAH CHALICEPraying for vocations is the most powerfulway to support vocations to the priesthoodand consecrated life in the Archdiocese of Boston. The purpose of the Elijah Chalice is to provide afocal point for this prayer in your own home.Beginning this weekend at our 10:00a.m.Sunday Mass, the celebrant will use the ElijahChalice for the Precious Blood. A family, individualor couple will be called forward to receive theElijah Chalice, which will be placed in a protectivecarrying case. They will receive a blessing andthen take the Chalice home, placing it in an area ofprominence. Each day during prayer time, theywill pray for an increase in vocations. Suggestedprayers for each day of the week will be included. Each Sunday, they will return the Elijah Chalice, forthe next host.A prayer journal travels with the Elijah Chalice, for those who may like to enter a thought, prayeror Scripture verse. Over time, this diary becomes aspiritual journey and blessing for the parish. Let uspray in thanksgiving for those men who havebecome our spiritual fathers. Their dedication andwillingness to answer God’s call enables us tobecome closer to God in so many ways, especiallythrough the Eucharist. If you would be interestedin hosting the Elijah Chalice or if you havequestions, please contactEd McLean ated mclean@comcast.net.DISCIPLES IN MISSIONToday is Divine Mercy Sunday and the Gospel tellsus that the first thing Jesus did when he appearedto the Apostles gathered in the upper room was togive them his peace and give them the power, through him, to forgive sins. Divine mercy. Later,Jesus says to Thomas who doubted: “Have youcome to believe because you have seen me? Blessedare those who have not seen and have believed.”Us! Jesus is talking about us. We are blessed. Takethis saying to heart: “Live in such a way that thosewho know you but don’t know God, will come toknow God because they know you.” Let theblessing and Divine Mercy of Jesus make adifference in your life and in the way you introduceothers to Jesus.4SUNDAY PARISH OFFERTORYYour StewardshipEaster Collection: 4828Thank you for your continued generosity!PARISH MAINTENANCE COLLECTIONThe monthly Parish Maintenance Collection willbe taken up at all the Masses this weekend, April11 & 12.
