12 Signs You Have an Entrepreneurial MindsetIf you were pressed to describe thestereotypical entrepreneur, which wordswould you use? Passionate? Dedicated?Optimistic? Sure, those apply. But insecure and troublemaker are morea u ate, a o di g to t eps ho k o asuccess when they see one. Do thefollowing traits, characteristics and quirksdescribe you? Well then, you might be anentrepreneur (at heart, if not yet inpractice).1. You take action.Barbara Corcoran, founder of TheCorcoran Group and co-sta of TV s SharkTank, says people who have a conceptbut not necessarily a detailed strategy aremore likely to have that entrepreneurial jene sais quoi. including buying from the same wellknown suppliers, Petryk forged his ownpath for J.P. Licks, developing made-fromscratch desserts in bold flavours.10. You recover quickly. It s a populaotio that su essfulentrepreneurs fail fast and fail often. Top 5 Consulting Intern MistakesI'm often asked what big mistakes internsmake that prevent them from getting fulltime consulting job offers.because she's swamped and your workload is light, what would you do? Inconsulting, you'd say, "No problem."Here are the big ones:When I was a Business Analyst, myengagement manager offered to orderdinner for me when he knew I was busyand he wasn't. I had all the key facts in myhead and I was running the deck (gettingit produced, double checking it for errors, making final revisions to the details of thepresentation) and he was mostly waitingfor me to finish. He ordered dinner. No bigdeal.1) Being Arrogant - In a bid to impress coworkers and clients, some interns will talkbig and alienate others. The key is inwatching specific words you use to conveyan idea or your tone of voice. If you say,"Well at Harvard, we did it this wayinstead of that way", well youimmediately get labeled an *sshole and,*ssholes don't get full-time job offers.Other times, you can use the right wordsbut if you say it in a way that is dismissiveor somehow conveys you're "better than"the other person, or they are "less than"you, that's a problem too.I've found some ex-investment bankersand ex-military people have theseproblems. In banking and the military, there is a more hierarchical culture. In themilitary, it is okay for a senior officer toinsist or even demand a junior officer dosomething. In banking, it's fine for a moresenior person to be more abrupt indealing with an analyst. In consulting, neither is okay. In consulting, werespectfully ask for what we want(regardless of tenure) and we're polite toeveryone. If you're not, you won't get afull-time offer. Here's an example. If you are a post-MBAintern, and a full-time analyst (who is 5years younger than you) asks if you wouldmind ordering dinner for the team2) Using Outward Confidence to ObscureFaulty Logic - Not as extreme asarrogance, but still a problem, isconveying false bravado in lieu of firmlogical conclusions.Everyone knows you're supposed to beconfident in consulting. But there's aHUGE difference between being confidentthat you're correct vs. acting confidenthoping nobody will actually check if youare correct.Consultants have incredibly good BSdetectors. If you are logically wrong butacting with great confidence, they willfigure it out in less than 5 minutes and callyou on it. Do that once, your job offer isgone. It is better to be confident that you doNOT know the answer, and to explain thatyou will go find or figure out the answer. As an example, with my clients I amgenerally either a) confident I am right1

January 17-22, 2016 at Manesar. It gave the participants an opportunity to understand the work ethos, and the broader details about the Armed Forces and the essentials of physical well-being and fitness.
