Fill in a fewpetals using satin stitch, and addFrench knots above the flowers.05 Backstitch over the collarusing navy thread, then tie asmall bow in navy to the collar.06 Cut out the front, back andkeyring tab pieces from thefabric along the marked lines.Press the long edges of thekeyring tab to the centre, thenfold it in half along the length.07 Place the folded keyring tabon the embroidered front piece,aligning the raw edges as shown,then place the back piece on topwith right sides (RS) together,aligning the edges.08 Sew around the outside,roughly 0.5cm (¼") in from theedge, leaving a 2cm (¾") gap.09 Turn the keyring RS out andfill with stuffing. Whenyou make the ‘split’, go through thefibres, not just in between the strands.Come up at point 1, then go down atpoint 2. Come up at point 3, splitting theprevious stitch through the fibres, thengo down at point 4. Repeat.WOVEN WHEELThis woven stitch is easy to work andcreates stunning flower shapes. It’susually started with five spokes, but canbe worked with more, as long as thereare an odd number of spokes.Using straight stitches of even length,form the five spokes of the woven wheel– it should look a bit like a star. Bringthe needle up close to the centre of thewheel, then pass the needle over onespoke and under the next.
