MIGRATING FROMTOON BOOM STUDIO TOTOON BOOM HARMONYMigrating from Toon Boom Studio to Harmony? This guide provides all theinformation you need to translate your Toon Boom Studio workflow to theHarmony workflow. Both products have similarities and some differencesand they’re all here in this guide.When migrating from Studio to Harmony, it is recommended to start withthe Harmony Essentials edition. Some Studio features are not available inHarmony, while some others are found in the Advanced or Premiumeditions.Harmony offers professional drawing, animation and compositing tools in auser-friendly environment. It also contains additional features that are notfound in Studio.TIPSThere are a variety tips that can help you adapt to some of the differencesbetween Studio and Harmony. You can modify Harmony to work a bit morelike what you’re used to in Studio.STUDIO KEYBOARD SHOR TCUTSHarmony and Studio do not have the same keyboard shortcuts. Harmonygives you the possibility to switch your shortcuts to use Toon Boom Studio’swhenever possible. Find out how here.1

This information is also available onlinehere.EXPORTING ANIMATION WITH A WHITE BACKGRO UNDHarmony exports your animations without any background, as it has alphachannel support, which results in a black background. If you draw imageswith a black line, you will not see the final result as it will be black on black.You’ll have to add a colour card to the timeline and set it to the desiredcolour. USER INTERFACE COLOU RHarmony is available in two styles: light (above) and dark. By default, thedark style is enabled. You can switch to the light style through thePreferences dialog box. See how here.The Camera view has a dark grey background, which can be changed to adifferent colour, such as white, through the Preferences dialog box. Learnhow to access the Preferences dialog box here and where to change thecolour here.IMPORTING STUDIO ART WORK IN HARMONYAlthough you cannot open Studio projects directly in Harmony, you canexport SWF files from Studio and import them in Harmony to transfer yourartwork, layers and some of your keyframe animations.Because features are different between Studio and Harmony, the level ofsupport in a SWF export is also different and the final result may differ fromyour original Studio project. TOOL OPTIONSIn Studio, most tool options can be found in the Tools and Element menus.In Harmony, most tool options are found quite conveniently in the contextsensitive Tool Properties view. Additional options are available in theAnimation and Drawing menus.
