OPENING OF MEETINGThe Mayor will welcome members and declare the meeting open.Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with newly legislated State Governmentrequirements the November Ordinary Council Meeting will be undertaken as a virtual meetingconducted using webinar facilities. The Council Chambers will be closed to members of the public.A link to the Council Meeting for viewing by members of the public will be available via the Councilwebsite www.oberon.nsw.gov.au.Recordings of Council Meetings or parts thereof cannot be copied, recorded, reproduced, reusedor transmitted without the prior written consent of the General Manager. The meeting is beingrecorded and made publicly available on Councils website and persons attending the meetingshould refrain from making any defamatory statements.2. There are two types ofconflict: Pecuniary – regulated by the Local Government Act and Department of Local GovernmentNon-pecuniary – regulated by codes of conduct and policy. QUESTIONS FROM THE PUBLICDue to the current COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with newly legislated State Governmentrequirements the December Ordinary Council Meeting is being undertaken as a virtual meetingconducted using webinar facilities. The General Manager has requested that all questions from thepublic must be submitted in writing prior to 1.00pm on Tuesday 15 December 2020.Members of the public who submit a question to Council are permitted to do so provided thefollowing guidelines are adhered to.1. The person lodging the question must advise of their name and in what capacity they areacting.2. If the person lodging the question is acting as another person/organisation’s agent they mustadvise Council if they have their prior consent/authority.Questions from the public is not an opportunity for debate with elected representatives or staff, it isan opportunity for the community to ask a question in relation to an issue or put a point of viewrelating to an issue that may be causing interest or concern. Due to time constraints a time frameof three minutes per speaker is allocated.The General Manager will read out any questions submitted at this point in time. Questions will betaken on notice and a response provided within a reasonable timeframe.8.
