Main interface –OverviewThe interface consists of three main areas:View panelBrowse panelThis area is where youcan view and interactwith content.Use this panel to navigate throughthe content. The buttons down theleft-hand-side allow you to access thiscontent by media type, structure typeor alphabetically.The lower buttons allow youto share, save content, as wellas adjust the settings.USER GUIDE: PRIMAL’S 3D ATLAS TITLES12Text panel3This panel is where you canread about structures you’veselected in the View panel. Youcan also search for content,as well as selecting from thelist of Visible structures.When you first launch the product,the Text panel contains theHelp and About section, whichcan be accessed at any timeby clicking on the Help icon .Page 6 of 28

Main interface –Opening and closing panelsYou can arrange the workspace to suit your needs.This can be especially useful on smaller screens or tablet devices.To open or close the Text panel,click on the header.To close the Browse panel,click on the active menu tab.For even more focus, bothpanels can be closed.In this example, the view has beenenlarged using the Zoom controls.USER GUIDE: PRIMAL’S 3D ATLAS TITLESPage 7 of 28

Finding content –3D views tabThere are several ways to locate anatomical structures.Firstly, you can browse the 3D views in the Browse panel.In the 3D views tab, simply click on a folder to open it,then select one of the 3D views contained within for it tobe displayed in the View panel.3The name of the viewappears here.Use these buttons to movebackwards and forwardsthrough your viewing history.3D VIEWS TAB1The content is arrangedinto folders. Simply clickon a folder to open it.2Each 3D view has a thumbnailpreview. Finding content –Search panelIf you know the name, or part of the name, of astructure you can locate it using the Search feature.1Begin typing your search term here –the Search panel will appear over thetop of the Text or View panel below.4Once you have completed yoursearch, close the Search panelby clicking on the cross.2The search results will appearbelow, sorted into folders.(You can uncheck the filtersabove if you are looking for onlya certain type of content.)3Open a folder and click onthe desired result to loadit into the View panel.USER GUIDE: PRIMAL’S 3D ATLAS TITLESPage 9 of 28

Identifying structures –Visible structures listVisible structures lists only those structures included in thecurrent view. You can select a structure name from the listto highlight that structure in the View panel.3Alternatively, you canselect a structure in theView panel and its namewill be highlighted in theVisible structures list.VISIBLE STRUCTURES2The ‘cookie-crumb trail’ showsthe structure’s location inthe anatomical hierarchy.1Select a structurename to highlight itin the View panel.USER GUIDE: PRIMAL’S 3D ATLAS TITLESPage 10 of 28

Identifying structures –Rollover labelsAll selectable 2D and 3D images featurerollover labels to help you identify structures.12You can turn off the rollover labelsin Settings. For example, you maywish to test yourself on the namesof structures in the View panel.USER GUIDE: PRIMAL’S 3D ATLAS TITLESHovering over a structurewith your mouse pointer willreveal the structure’s name.Page 11 of 28

Interacting with the 3D model –Zoom and FlipThe Zoom controls allow a closerlook at the model.Note that the image will becomeless sharp as you zoom in. As analternative to using zoom, youmay well be able to find a closerview of the structure you areinterested in using the 3D views tabor by using the Search feature.Zoom inZoom outWhile zoomed in, dragging with the mouseor finger will move rather than rotate theimage. Main tabs –ImagingThe Imaging* tab features side-by-side viewingpanes, enabling you to compare our 3D modelwith equivalent scans.Clicking on the Best view thumbnailwill open that view in the View panel.Choose whether to view the Axial,Sagittal or Coronal plane by selectingthe thumbnails in the Browse panel.IMAGING TABAXIAL PLANEStructures selected in onepane will highlight in theother (if visible in both panes).Note that the Imaging slidesare taken from a differentspecimen to our 3D model –therefore, due to anatomicaldifferences, the two views willnot match completely.SAGITTAL PLANECORONAL PLANEUse the Change plane positionbuttons to move through theslices. Main tabs –FavoritesSave your favorite 3D views, slides, movies,animations, anatomical structures andclinical articles into your own folders.Add favoriteAdd folderOpens the Add favorite dialogue box,where you can specify a name and folderlocation for your new Favorite.Save to fileOpens the Add folder dialoguebox where you can specify a nameand location for your new folder.Load from FileFavorites are stored locally on yourcomputer. If you would like to access themon another computer, you will first need toSave to file. Specialist tabs –AnimationsMany of our specialist titles alsofeature an Animations* tab.Animations differ from moviesin that they can be rotated andviewed from different angles.Also, structures areselectable in animations.For the smoothest playbackwe recommend waiting forthe entire sequence to load.ANIMATIONS TABDrag with your finger ormouse to move forwardsand backwards throughthe frame sequence.You can also use the playbackcontrols to play forwards,pause and play backwards.* The Animations tab is not available in 3D Atlastitles; Ultrasound titles; CT and MRI; Dentistry.USER GUIDE: PRIMAL’S 3D ATLAS TITLESUse the rotation controls to viewthe animation from different angles.The play-head can also be draggedback and forth to examinethe motion in more detail.Page 26 of 28
