B GSPIRAL BEVEL Spiral bevel gearboxes BG incorporate the most modern advances in bevelgearbox design and construction. Before delivery, the gearbox will be filled with the necesary lubricant. Forinput speeds up to 1000 rpm the gearboxes will be grease lubircated, for higherspeeds or on request oil lubrication is available. In this case the gearboxes willbe supplied with a filler/breather plug, level indicator and drain plug. These gearboxes offer an extensive range of ratios together with an excellentpower to size relationship as well as low noise levels even at high speedoperation.CONSTRUCTION FEATURESFEATURES-For high speed and/or high ambient temperature it may be necessary to applyexternal cooling. Please consult our technical department. The gearbox which is made in case iron, is of cuboid design withall external faces machined and threaded fixing postions on eachface (usable depth of threaded hole twice the diameter).-RECOMMENDED LUBRICANTThe input and output covers and housing are supplied with twolocation spigot diameters (h7) together with threaded fixing holes(except size BG 75) for possible co-axial fixing.-The alloy steel spiral bevel gears are cut in the GLEASON system, case hardened, tempered and lapped to the exact mountingposition. Input and output shafts are manufactured in hardenedand tempered steel with all surfaces ground.-Input and output shaft tolerance (j6). Hollow shaft tolerance (H7).-All shafts supplied with threaded end to UNI 3221 - DIN 332.-Keyways to UNI 6604 - DIN 6885.Motorised Spiral Bevel Gearboxes, Reversing Spiral Bevel Gearboxes andDis-engaging Spiral Bevel Gearboxes are usually oil lubricated.MobilMOBILUX EP 004 (Mineral Grease)MobilMOBILGEAR 630 (Mineral Oil)The above lubricants are suitable for operation at normal ambienttemperatures -5 deg.C to 40 deg. C. For extreme conditions alternativelubricants are available, these conditions must be specified at time ofordering.MAINTENANCEIt is recommended that the oil is changed after the first 500 hours and then afterevery 3000 operating hours. On request and dependent upon speed type BG spiral bevel gearboxes may beassembled with minimum backlash.QUANTITY OF LUBRICANTDue to the quality of the gears and machining tolerances and overall efficiencyof between 94% and 97% can be expected. The quantity of lubricant (litres) for each unit size are as shown below:BG12BG19BG24BG32BG38BG42BG55BG75Grease The modular construction of BG spiral bevel gearboxes permits up to six input/output shafts (except ratio 1:1).SizeINSTALLATION & MAINTENANCEINSTALLALLAask for:0.1Quantities refer to units type A, ratio 1:1B G INFORMATION BOOKLETORDER CODESPIRAL BEVEL LSEMBLYRATIOSPIRAL BEVEL GEARBOXES WITH IEC MOTOR FLANGE ADAPTOR2BG19MA2:1IEC YRATIOMOTORINPUT

As the name implies, the teeth are cut straight, parallel to the cone axis, like spur gears. The helical bevel gears are machined in such a way that the components, pinion and helical bevel gear, are matched together and sold as a bevel gear set. When a pinion or helical bevel gear in the axle have to be replaced, both components must be replaced with the new bevel gear set. Never replace the single damaged component with a new one.
