Limitorque Electric ActuatorsMX Multi-turn, Non-intrusive ActuatorFlowserve Limitorque introduced the MX electricactuator in 1997 as the first smart actuator providinguncompromised reliability and performance in an easyto-use design.The next generation MX improves on its market-firstinnovations: a unique absolute encoder that does notrequire battery backup; LimiGard technology; easy-touse menus in 11 languages; and the use of Hall-effectdevices to eliminate potentially troublesome reedswitches. Altogether, these enhancements providepredictable, reliable and safe operation in the mostextreme applications.The MX includes an absolute encoder with increasedspan, improved diagnostics capability and built-in selftest (BIST), which verifies and validates the integrity ofits components. The reliability of an absolute encoderalong with BIST is a major reason that the MX iscertified by exida Certification as capable for use in upto SIL 3 applications. No additional hardware is neededto make the MX SIL capable. Another MX feature, MXQuik, provides an uninterrupted power transfer optionduring main power losses.
