FROM THE PASTOR’S DESKMay Jesus Christ, who died for us, gives us courage, strength, and love, be with you!Our country continues to experience a downward trend to the coronavirus. More people are being vaccinated, less peopleare being admitted into the hospital, and less people are dying because of the virus. It is being proven that the vaccine, along with the regular precautions, is leveling off the virus or putting it under control. If you have not received yourvaccine yet, please make plans to get it.The Season of Lent is quickly coming to an end. With all the attention around COVID-19, family and work issues, crimesrepeatedly being recorded on the news, and other issues, I hope you are finding a moment or two to reflect on the Seasonof Lent. Lent prepares us for Holy Week and Easter Sunday. Please make a point to focus on Lent and reflect on theimportance Lent is in our lives.Speaking of crimes in the city. It has been reported that the number of homicides is higher than this time last year and theyear before. As the warmer weather draws near, more public activities begin. Please take time to pray for human life. Weshould not become hostage in our homes as a result of the crimes occurring in our streets.Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. I look forward to seeing many of our parishioners at Massnext Sunday and during the Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. The theme for Mass today is about inner conversion. Our external appearance may look the same, but for conversion tohappen, it must begin internally, in our mind and heart. During these last few days of Lent, may we allow Our Lord tohelp us with our inner conversion.Peace and Blessings,Msgr. BrittoDEACON’S CORNERSt. Joseph NovenaIn the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Amen.Saint Joseph, you are the protector and intercessor of all who love and venerate you. You know that I have confidence inyou and that, after Jesus and Mary, I come to you as an example for holiness, for you are especially close to God.Therefore, I humbly commend myself, with all who are dear to me and all that belong to me, to your intercession. I beg ofyou, by your love for Jesus and Mary, not to abandon me during life and to assist me at the hour of my death.Glorious Saint Joseph, spouse of the Immaculate Virgin, pray for me to have a pure, humble, charitable mind, and aperfect resignation to the divine Will. Be my guide, my father, and my model through life that I may die as you did in thearms of Jesus and Mary.Loving Saint Joseph, faithful follower of Jesus Christ, I raise my heart to you to implore your powerful intercession inobtaining from the Divine Heart of Jesus all the graces necessary for my spiritual and temporal welfare, particularly thegrace of a happy death, and the special grace I now implore. (Mention your request)Guardian of the Word Incarnate, I feel confident that your prayers on my behalf will be graciously heard before thethrone of God. St. Joseph Most Faithful, Pray for us! Amen.Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, worldwithout end. Amen. In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Amen.Deacon NightingaleOur commitment to Christ: I pray for the wisdom and the grace to remain solidly committed to Christ.ST.
